They do tours there. Not saying i want to live there or move there but plenty of people visit.One scene from early on has the nursing staff at the hospital taking all of the firefighter's uniforms down to the basement to get them out of the way because they are highly radiated.
Those uniforms are still in a pile in the basement of that hospital in Pripyat. And are STILL to this day deadly radioactive if someone were to come in contact with them without proper protection.
