Did you see the Matress Firm stuff?

Someone on reddit pointed out how there are like 25 Mattress firms in a 5 square mile radius in some metro areas, which makes no sense from a supply & demand standpoint, and they are now under investigation for widespread money laundering/bad accounting.

Are they a franchise? Some franchises don’t care what kind of competitive situation they put their owners in. I was looking into buying a franchise 6-7 years ago. When I asked them if they only allow one franchise per zip code they said they have no policies like that and it of course wouldn’t matter. That was the end of my pursuit of their brand.

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but why did that end your interest in their brand?

He's saying that if a company won't guard against over-saturating a market then you have no assurances that someone isn't going to come in and put you out of business by opening the same franchise in that area.

I don't think he was referring to Mattress Firm.

CVS likes to open stores across the street from Walgreens. I always thought that was strange.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Oh... gotcha... the "obvious" think I was missing was reading "mattress", when Al said "franchise".

I literally thought he was mattress shopping.

    Need more coffee apparently.

Just watched Hoosiers again. Not sure if there's a better sports movie.

I dunno, for me personally, Glory Road is one of the best sports movies I've seen.

After the abortion that was last year's reboot, this season of xfiles has been really good. They've really gone back to their roots with some of the "monster of the week" episodes.

Watching 'Rudy'. Good story. Perhaps the BRONCOS can find this heart.
