You watch the Oliver Stone netflix series? I caught the first one and jumped ship, but a buddy who binged it got me interested again.

I am you before your buddy binged it. I felt like Stone is well-actually-ing history I already knew or at least wasn't mind-blowingly different than the way I already understood it.

I do remember there was something leading up to World War II that was interesting and that I didn't know, but now I can't even remember what that was.

    Maybe I'll try again.

The thing that intrigued me was that Stone brought to focus many US-directed regime overhauls, perhaps more than are commonly taught. In particular, my friend mentioned Greece and LBJ. He was struck by the totality of US meddling abroad. My friend is a 50 y/o former Marine avionics dude, now database/server specialist.

The United States definitely meddled in the regimes ofcountries around the world extensively during the Cold War. I remember reading some of the letters and writings from US Diplomats and officials during the Vietnam era while I was in college and while I can't remember many specifics now, I do remember having the feeling that they felt like they could accomplish whatever they wanted.

Love the prominence of Chopin in Westworld.

Even though I had it mostly figured out after episode 9, the Westworld season finale was great.

I was just about to post the same. Connected all the dots. Very well done, I thought.
