I looked at some of the mocks out there and with Denver having #108 only one team was seen trying to grab a DT and that was Minny. But they had Nevis listed there so its possible Ballad may fall down to us early if that is where Denver plans to go with it.

There is no "quick fix" for our defense. It sucks. It's the absolute worst in the league and until we fix the D-line it won't get any better. You can scheme all you want, but when your players suck, your scheme gets figured out quickly and fails every time.

All we're doing now is drafting WRs without having a decent QB or drafting RBs without having an O-line. Our LBs could be Miller, Ray Lewis, and Derrick Brooks in his prime and we'd still suck ass vs the run. Why? Because they all get blocked because our D-line sucks. /rant.
If they traded down and passed on Austin and Paea, what certainty is there that they would have drafted Jenkins? You seemed to be hinting at this. Im with you. And thats kind of where Im coming from. They had numerous chances at DTs and declined every time. Why? Is it that theyre risky? Is it that they dont want to wait for them to develop?

RC, not sure if you said that in jest, but back when Montana roamed the earth, The Rams, DC'd by Fritz Shurmur, ran a 2-5-4, they called the "Eagle" defense. First time they tried it, they absolutely FROSTED the vaunted SF "West Coast" offense, and won the game. But the 9ers figured out how to deal with it (running plays early and often), and got revenge. Things like that are why I prefer talent over scheme every time. The consistent winners rely more on strength and talent... Schemes get figured out. The best teams do well because they usually win the one on one battles, play in, play out.

Lol....yea, nv.....KINDA in jest.....while teetering on serious. Have you looked at the roster? :puke:

All that's going to be left after tonite will be players that are projects/headcases/druggies/drunks/rapists/woman beaters and the handicapped.

Not sure what everybody's worried about.
    Bitter Clinger. Deal with it.

You are probably more right than wrong.

If they were worked about taking a couple of years to develop a DT. It will still take a couple if years next year. Maybe longer if the DT class is not as strong.

Sorry but have been hoping the FO/defacto GM would wr thee head of of their rectum for a Decade Now.

no doubt, I'm right there with you RC... On D, we could be considered now at least semi-solid on 9 starting positions... But everyone is wondering why we've done nothing to address those last 2, which are what separates many of the good teams from the bad. Woody Hayes won a lot of games on hs 3 yards and a cloud of dust theory, since if you're guaranteed 3 yards a play and get 4 downs, the other team never gets the ball. And if you're the "other team", it's just agonizing and demoralizing to watch the clock just melt away while you lose game after game. THe most ugly way to lose games. Completely incapable of stopping the other guys on running plays.
DT's shouldn't really take very long to develop... but we do need to get somebody who is "starter ready", or we haven't fixed our worst problem yet.
