Default Elevation Inc's Controversial 2011 Mock Draft

Carolina Selects Marcell Dareus at 1 so Denver Trades the #2 Overall to SF for the #7 and #45 picks plus a 2012 2nd rd pick....This is a great deal all around and allows Harbaugh to have his Franchise Qb in Gabbert or Newton at 2 before buffalo at 3 or AZ at 5

Denver then Trades the #7 pick to Detroit for pick #13 and Pick #44, Detroit needs a CB or OT in a bad way and I mean bad way at 7 they would be guarenteed their choice of either Amukamara or Tyron smith before Dallas at 9
These trades are also very realistic as teams have traded back a couple of times in the first rd before Clevland did it the year before last

There also will be a guarenteed rookie pay scale when a new deal is reached as both players and owners wnat that done. So teams will be a little risker and freer this year than in years past. Also consider the fact that FA might not even occur this year, and no trades for players can be done, and some teams will have to take chances, because they have no idea if they can use FA to fill that dire need.

Rd1 pick 13.(from Detroit)- DT Corey Liuget(Illinois)-This guy is a elite DT and one of the most consistent and best on tape. He dominates the run game and has a decent pass rush arsenal, capped by a impressive bull rush. He doesn't have any character concerns, and posses great leadership skills, if it wasn't for fairley declaring early Liuget would be a surefire top ten lock this year. But he is a Top 15 lock as is. Losing Dareus to Carolina hurts but selecting this guy helps to improve a very mediocre DL in Denver

Rd2 pick 36.- OT/G- Benjamin Ijalana(Villanova)- We have some unknown depth issues at Guard, and we need a Starting RT, Ijalana should be plug and play from Day 1 at RT. With Beadles playing guard and Providing depth at LT, losing harris could be tough, but this guy will fill out some depth as well as give us a quality starter to replace Harris.

Rd2 pick 44.(from Detroit)- S Rahim Moore(UCLA)- Dawkins is old and injured frequently now and has maybe ˝ year left, Hill is a sound consistent safety, but he is old and has few playmaking skills left. Mcbath is always hurt and Bruton showed many why he is best fit for special teams last year in the Oakland game. We need a playmaker here and Moore provides just that

Rd2 pick 45.(from SF)- LB Mason Foster(Washington)- We have lacked a true Leader at the LB position for awhile, someone with athletic ability and coverage capability but also a instinct for the ball and playing the run. I like Haggan and Mays a lot but neither is the athlete foster is. Foster should be able to play all 3 positions for us at LB and fill out our Lb core nicely. I imagine him starting at MLB or SLB by mid season.

Rd2 pick 46.- RB Ryan Williams(Virginia Tech)- Moreno is always hurt and we have no Rb depth, Bucky is a unknown and Lendale is coming of major surgery we need insurance against injury and a back to compete with moreno, otehrwise our new offense will sputter once again. Another Rb is a must for this team.

Rd3 pick 67.- DT Terell Mcclain(South Florida)- We now have only 2 capable DT's on the roster, so anotehr is a must we have some players who shoul work nicely at DE for us but our DT corps is very thin, and needs a lot of work this year before season start, adding both Mcclain and Liuget is a very good start to addressing what has been piss poor DL play for some time.

Rd6 pick 189.- TE Charlie Gantt(Marshall)- Quinn has shown nothing, gronkowski is coming off injury and we could really use anotehr TE after releasing Graham. Gantt is a stellar blocker and will allow gronkowski some freedom to move around TE sets.

Rd7 pick 216.- FB Ryan Taylor(North Carolina)- spencer larsen has concerning injury history and using TE's as FB in a run first offense is never a good thing, getting a legit FB to push larsen and compete with him is a must for this offense. It will go along way in helping the run game stability outas well.

So there ya have it flame away, call it madden, say what ya want no sweat off my back......LOL

Oh and if Dareus is there at 2 we had better well take him and forget the trade back stuff. Below is my mock with no trades if Dareus is around at 2.

    1. DT Marcel Dareus
    2. OT/G Benjamin Ijalana
    2. LB Mason Foster
    3. DT Terell Mcclain
    6. TE Charlie Gantt
    7. FB Ryan Taylor

Ouch, i guess the time away hasnt improved your mock draft skills. lol

Jk and just busting your balls. Gutsy but i see too many players that i believe will either fail at the pro level or not be nearly as impactful as some of the other talent in the draft. I like the idea of drafting down and Corey Liuget is the third best DT in the draft at least according to the experts but at #2 we can have either Fairley and Dareus and i would rather take one of those guys than settle for Liuget at 13. If we trade back than might as well go for another player alltogether in the first round (maybe MLB/OLB) and pick up a DT in the second round.

lol its a work in progress I'm late, as for fairley why take him at 2, if we really wanted him we could still trade with san fran get picks and select him at 7.....I think the trades are legit, but i do agree at 13 we could go elsewhere and after last year its not unreasonable to think we could just move back even more to get who we want....I think liguet is legit starting material from day 1 but i wont argue there are some risk like ryan williams and moore, however both those prospects fit big needs

Looks good to me but then I have not followed college ball in a few years.

Have no feel about specific players only know that DL needs major work. MLB, safety and rt need upgrades, depth or flat out replacements.

Not as concerned with RB or FB as you are. If we do either let the RB be atleast 220 pounds and the FB atleast 245.

TE I think we are good with the two younger guys we have.

Would rather have another DE earlier.

Yea, Williams is my main concern. Hokie backs generally dont do that well at the pro level. Not to say he wouldnt be great but having watched enough Hokie games on this side of the U.S. im not nearly that impressed with him as i would be with players like leshoure or Tuau (Sp?) from Nevada. But i agree, RB is a need in terms of a plowing type of back to go with the flash and dash of Moreno if he stays healthy.

i personally would prefer Derek Locke or Mikel Leshoure, however leshoure is probally going to go end of rd 1, but if he does fall into our lap at 36 I wouldnt hesitate to pull the trigger, regarding locke he is a big play threat and suprisngly shifty, his stock has soared to rd 3-4 range, but we have only 1 pick there in rd 3 and i would prefer to use it on Mcclain or jarvis jenkins since we have zero DT's outside vickerson. I would be fine with tarding 1 of those 2nd rd pciks for a extra 3rd and 4th rd pick becasue it would deepen our middle picks and give us even more options to fill our numerous needs....just didnt find a good partner for that yet...lol

I like the gutsy prediction, but just don't see it happening.

Always love INC's mock-drafts, and he did say it was "controversial" in the title. But the good news is, Carolina drafts Newton, and we get Dareus!

well the begining stated this was based off dareus going to carolina at 2, probally help if you read that part, then i dont think fairley is worth the #2 pick, but if we really wnated Fairley as i mentioned already we could just stay at seven after trading with SF and select him there.....as for 13 there are still plenty of day 1 starters for this team at 13 on defense....and the extra picks could help fill our gazillion needs...lol

left field is where i belong and im 100% content to draft dareus at 2 if Carolina doesnt select him at 1, in fact I prefer that route but as i mentioned if he is gone lets trade back and add some picks.....

as for the 2 trades its gutsy but possible clevland traded back 3 times the year the jets took there spot at 5 for sanchez, in fact its more likely than people realize, Xanders knows how to move and work the draft to get our players, we dont know if it was his or MCD's full call as to actual players but xanders knows very well how to manuever. I have also called a trade back correctly the last 2 years, and i expect to see the same thing if Dareus is gone....
