"We saw it…. the hussars let loose their horses. God, what power! They ran through the smoke and the sound was like that of a thousand blacksmiths beating with a thousand hammers

They rush on to the Swedes! They crash into the Swedish riters…. Overwhelm them! They crash into the second regiment - Overwhelmed! Resistance collapses, dissolves, they move forward as easily as if they were parading on a grand boulevard

    Pretty cool:

We have some exciting news to share. After an exhaustive national search, The National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation announces that Denver, Colorado, and Arlington, Texas, have been selected by the Foundation’s Board of Directors as finalists for the future home of the National Medal of Honor Museum. A final home city will be chosen by the Board this September.

I hope it's Denver. I would definitely want to go visit and I hate Dallas.

When I was in the private sector, we did some work for MHS and I think they do their annual event in Colorado. So there is a chance.

Default World War II veteran requests 100 cards for 100th birthday, goes viral

World War II veteran James South of Watauga, Texas, is turning 100 on Oct. 7 and he is requesting some help celebrating.

South, who now lives at a retirement home after living on his own in East Texas until he was 98, has gone viral after the facility posted a picture of the veteran posing with a large sign asking for 100 birthday cards for his birthday.

“Hello! My name is James South and I am a proud WWII veteran! I will be turning 100 on October 7th, 2019. I would like to receive 100 birthday cards. Please mail to: 5800 North Park Dr., Watauga, TX 76148. Thank you!” the sign reads.

Not sure how I missed this thread. It might have had something to do with me disappearing as a lowly peon forever. In any case good thread. Figured I would lay out my path a bit.

Active duty AF as a Crew Chief from 1999-2007
Moved back To Italy As a contractor from 2008-2011
Joined the DC Air National Guard as a full timer from 2011-present (Now just a traditional)
Currently employed by The Air force as a civilian GS employee overseas in Italy....

Been TDY pretty much everywhere worldwide.....

Deployed to: Bagram Afghanistan X 3, Balad Iraq 1, Al Udeid x2, Turkey x1, Saudi Arabia x1, Jordan X 1, Northern Territory Australia in the boonies lol(still a cakewalk) and Guam(easiest and best trip the AF ever sent me on, def a true cakewalk and pretty much 4 1/2 month vacation(my wife didn't feel the same for some reason) ......Longest deployment was 6 months to Bagram shortest was 90 days to Turkey.

Need 4 guard years to hit a military 20 and then I will retire as a E-8, and 13 years to hit my federal 30, long way to go.....
