(if we draft sexy with our first 3, i would take him in the 3rd though)

But I think we are talking about guys to be had in the latter part of the draft.
Bradford or Harper. DEN needs to get a few more mid round picks. .
Lot of RB talent out there this year.

here's our scheduled workout list as reported by PFT:

*Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller (3/10).

*Portland State tight end Julius Thomas (3/16).

    *Baylor guard Danny Watkins (3/17).

*Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray (3/?).

Miami defensive end Allen Bailey (3/?).

    *Washington quarterback Jake Locker (?/?).

*Oklahoma State running back Kendall Hunter (?/?).

    *Temple safety Jaiquawn Jarrett (?/?).

    +Nevada quarterback Colin Kaepernick (?/?).

*Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder (?/?).

*Missouri defensive end Aldon Smith (?/?).

Clemson defensive end Da’Quan Bowers (?/?).

    Connecticut linebacker Lawrence Wilson (?/?).

    Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert (?/?).

    Auburn quarterback Cam Newton (?/?).

    +LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson (4/?).

Abilene Christian wide receiver Edmond Gates (4/19).

that list makes me want to stab myself in the eye! either we're pulling off a shanahan-level smokescreen, or i better not watch this year's draft. . .

we're meeting with every quarterback in the class and no defensive tackles? something is majorly rotten in denmark-- i'm praying that stench comes from this information, and not our front office. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Xanders said on the radio yesterday that they want 3 starters out of their first 3 picks.

QB-NOPE-he would compete with kyle and tebow and beat brady but wont be a starter

RB- not within the first 3 picks.
    CB-possibly
DE-Doubftul-doom and ayers-DE would be a depth guy
    DT-YES
    S-YES
    OLB/WLB-YES

Also said they are scouting guys for when they hit FA in 3-4 years down the road they will know about them...(Im thinking, that they are thinking, that if TT is not what they hope after 3-4 years, that they will know what they want about these QBs and Go hard after one then)

Since we are looking at Guards, it also leads me to believe that they will slide Beadles over to RT and get a with one of our 2nds. I also believe that at the top of our board it looks like this.

    Dareus
    Fairley
    PP
    Bowers

And I think we are looking at QBs to also entice Car to take one now and not take our guy Marcell....oh got to go now
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

I think every draft hopes to get three starters out of their first three picks. I wouldnt' read too much into that.

Not to mention, if they (the draft picks) don't start in the 2011 season but have won the starting role by the 2012 season (or end of the 2011 season) then you got three starters.

I'm curious. How does us looking at QBs entice Car to take one now when they could have the pick of any player in the draft?

I was wondering about that myself.
I think Car has to upgrade @ qb. They were a joke offensively last yr, as denver was defensively.

    Gabbert
    Newton
    Locker
    Mallett
    Ponder
    Captainkirk-teehee

These are the best QBs. The rest is like Jimmy Clausen, even some of these guys are no better than he. More than Likely all of these QBs will be drafted before the 3rd round.
    ------------------------

Now that we know this, here is why. The Panthers have the 1st overall and their next pick is in the 3rd round. They will more than likely not finish dead last next year and therefore not be picking close enough to land Luck (if he is even the top QB).....

So with us showing that we are going QB- that will take one of the prime QBs off the list all the while still leaving the rest of the QB needing teams still wanting one. I do not think anyone considers us a QB needy team. So by this, it is even further less likely that one of those top Qbs will last til 3.......Yeah it is a reach, but hell, we are looking at ALL the top Qbs anyway- reach of a smokescreen from the start.

If they take a QB first, then we land Dareus. Why wouldnt we do what we can to manipulate them?

    Hmmm.

I think you feel a guy is worthy of taking as your starting QB, or he isn't. THere are few positions on the field that can justify #1 overall money, and QB is at the top of that list. If there is a QB that is good enough for them to consider a franchise QB, they take him at #1. If not, they take the best player in the draft class. I don't thin we force them to take a QB at #1, simply because they don't feel there will be "another one" in round two.

That would be the dumbest draft strategy on Car's part, eva.

    3-Newton
    4-cincy?-fairlye.-nah, bowers instead
    5-AZ-Mallett-mmtoo soon, Fairley

Sorry, I should pay more attention. I thought you were ranking the prospects you want to see us draft.

Cam Newton - QB - Player

Auburn QB Cam Newton has set up either workouts or visits with nine teams over the next four weeks.

Newton will work out for the Dolphins (March 27), visit the Bills (March 28), and work out for the Vikings (March 30) later this month. He'll start April with visits and and a workout for the Bengals, then on to visit the Panthers (April 5) and the Titans (April 6). From there, he has a return visit to Cincinnati (April 12), on to Cleveland (April 13), and then a visit with the Redskins (April 15). His final trip is to Denver on April 18, 10 days before the draft.
