make them one demensional and get pressure on the qb and we will start to put teams away.
We had big leads on San Diego and New Orleans. It doesn't work. If we establish those leads then have a RB who control the clock you won't see those leads evaporate like they have. The defense has to stop people on 3rd down and then let the offense control the clock and score at the end of a long sustained drive. Throwing is great early on but you need to pound the ball in the 3rd and 4th quarter and eat clock.

    You pass to score points..

You run the ball to win!!

nope, but i promise even without seeing him run that he will be a monster... my previous post covers mainly why- actions speak louder than words...

Also shanny said in his qb fan conference or whatever it is, that torain is special and "you will like him."

Sometimes you can just feel things- I am feeling he will be like a marshawn lynch to us, big, strong, fast, runs over people, vision, wont go down easily if at all.

I got the koolaid, but our offense is set- except we need a C and one more G.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

yeah but you cant run the ball from the get go and for the whole game like some are suggesting. i agree about putting up points and then pounding the rock. but to keep their defense on their heels we need to throw the rock and throw it early. our offense was terrible last game so i wont blame the d but they do need to stop the run and find a way to create pressure on the qb. i think it was a huge wakeup call for us losing to the last place chiefs.

Bates is young. Hes still learning, and its showing. Just part of life for an NFL coach. Learn........you get better. Dont learn..........you get fired.

What could it hurt to give it a try?

I think a lot of it is Bates calling the plays. He's the passing game coordinator. It goes back to that adage, "Show a carpenter a nail, and he'll grab his hammer." Bates calls the plays based on his part of the gameplan. How else do you explain the "fancy" reverse to Marshall last week that caused a fumble. That's not really a running play and we've done a lot of that kind of thing in critical 3rd down situations in several games this season.

Hopefully, as Bates gets more experience, he will be able to learn from it and moderate his pass-first mentality with some more running. . .more effective running.
Yeah, on 2nd and 2, we went with 2 consecutive pass plays. We could've used the 1st down ....

Yeah, even if he doesn't get at least 4 yards, that pounding could wear down the defense's line. It's the same tactic the Giants did last season, wearing down the defense with Jacobs, then using the speedy Bradshaw when their opponent's defense was tired.

You almost wonder if Pittman knows he's gonna be limited in his yards per carry because he doesn't have the speed, so he lowers his head and gets the 4 - 6 yards, going for the more sure thing. Almost seems like Young and Hall want to hit a homer every time, or ???? I don't know, just sayin'... tell me where I'm wrong, but you don't see many speed merchants enjoy taking what the D gives.

seems to me the opposing defenses are so worried about our receiving threats, they forget about our rb's in pass plays..we need more swing plays to the flats. especially with a superb blocker like marshall, and graham.

Another thing with Pittman is that he has good vision, too. He'll pound it in, but if he sees there's a clear lane outside, he takes it.

I think we don't use Pittman as much because our zone blocking usually stretches outside first, so Pittman's lack of speed will make that play less effective. But if he can get a sure 3 yards pounding the ball straight on, that's not a bad thing, specially if it wears down the defensive line.
