Thread: Packers cut A.J. Hawk

    Default Packers cut A.J. Hawk

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...-cut-a-j-hawk/

We didn’t expect Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk to see the $10.5 million he’d be guaranteed on the first day of the league year, and now it’s official that he won’t.
    Bill Williamson:

"The Broncos went from one of the more attractive organizations in the NFL to one in total disarray. McDaniels will go down as one of the most reviled figures in Denver sports history".

Question is, can he play MLB and does he like Mountains.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

Shows how big of a sham his all-pro selection was.

He can play WLB or MLB, has no lingering health issues, is pretty fast, and is better in a 4-3 anyway. If the Packers don't want to pay him $10.5 Million, the Broncos would do well to give him the contract they would not. His tenacity on defense is exactly what we need. Plus, he's married to Brady Quinn's sister so maybe Brady Quinn can do some recruiting? I hope the Broncos can pull this guy in.

No way. He's going to walk for sure now. With Nick Barnett on the roster and Hawk coming off a great year, Hawk is going to cash in.

The analysis on the "It's All Over, Fat Man" site confirmed what I have deeply
suspected -- well, I knew it, as most of us did -- the Broncos are hurting at
    linebacker.

Go get Hawk. I'll supply the weapons . . .

Let me correct myself. They cut him now with HOPES of resigning him to a more roster friendly deal that doesn't pay him 10 million right now but will spread that money over several years.
