Growing up I always went there or to North Valley Mall. Hell, they just blew up Westminster Mall a few months ago. The only Malls we have left just aren't the same. They need a Spencer Gifts, Orange Julius, and Video Game Arcade to qualify in my opinion. Otherwise they are just shopping centers.

Old Elitch's was great. Shade, fun, gum tree...

I feel old from reading this.....man I loved celebrity. Used to have my bday there all the time. Fantastic Nathan's in Cinderella City rocked also. Even riverfront mall was badass. Now it's dish network call center.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

I take it that Elitch's Gardens is no longer there, or did they build a new one. I went there once in the early 80s.

Used to be "Should we go to Elitches or Lakeside?" Usually it was Elitches. Wonder what happened to Lakeside

I drive by Lakeside every day on my way to Golden. Its still there, but now the rides are scary not because of the thrill but because of shoddy maintainence. I haven't personally been in about a decade, but I guess its probably ok. I think all the rides require tickets that you could purchase at the gate so its more like a carnival. I know they have nickel days every now and then.

yeah my son for his school had a school event night thingy at lakeside...

We went. I tell you what I was freaked out the entire time. I remember when I was 5 and that place was old and the wood looked rotted and such. 23 years later it does not look like it has had any updating. Needless to say, some of the teachers and other parents thought I was a sissy. Like shake said, its not the ride thats scary, its the fact that that wood is older than I am and has been out in the elements the entire time.

But kids still do the rides and such...I had more fun playing the little games, the basketball, the shooting, ring toss- that sort of thing. Something where I wont fly off a track at 55 mph.

I'd like to see you say that when you are taking a corner on the Wild Chipmunk then plummet off the track. At least you will die doing what you love, I guess...

    How many years ago?

Look at some of these pictures. These are the nice pics they want you to see.....The one on page 13 is when they were fixing the ride because that news casters kid was in it when it broke and he died or something. It was run down then, and its like Courtney Brown now- its broken all over the place.

That's going to happen in any densley populated area.

I've been mugged myself. Didn't make me scared of the place where I lived.
