Thread: Rams release FB Mike Karney

The St. Louis Rams have informed fullback Mike Karney that he is being released. Under new offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels the team is expected to use a fullback even less than it did last year, when Karney was inactive for four games.

Karney had a sense he was being phased out of the offense when he was inactive for Games 11-14 of the season. The hiring of McDaniels, who doesn't use a fullback much in his scheme, was another indication that Karney's days were numbered and that the offense is being tailored more towards quarterback Sam Bradford.

No joke... we should pick him up... give him a shot at camp.
No CBA means no trades and no free agents signings...
we should take what we can get early...
so we are ready for the short camp.
