    Default Metallica: Death Magnetic

Has anyone else bought/listened to the new album yet?

I got a free copy of the CD for buying a concert ticket (Though, at $118 for 1 ticket, I wouldn't really call it "free")...

I'm just now on my first listen. So far, so good. Clearly better than St. Anger already.

"Cyanide" seems to be a pretty good tune. Based on my 1st impression I don't think "The Unforgiven III" is as good as 1 or 2, but still one of the better songs I've heard thus far. I also like the single.

One of my favorite Metallica albums is their S&M. The orchestra was really cool.

I got it and listened a couple of times. Sounds more like And Justice for All than their newer stuff. I like it so far, but usually things have to grow on me for awhile. Rick Rubin produced, that's a good sign.

Ive heard some of the songs on Youtube. Metallica still has a fine sound. Though I wish they would have left Unforgiven at 2. This Unforgiven 3 sounds like absolute crap.

If you can get passed the fact that Hetfield will probably always be this bad, the music is great......

or is metallica not metal enough for him?
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Some friends of mine say that the metallica songs off DM sound better on guitar hero then they do on the actual album.

And Justice for all was the last good album they put out. I like this one more than the others though.
Thanks MO for the wicked Sig.

$118 to see Metallica... that's bullshit. A steaming pile.

I'm with Clay, they lost me after Justice. Kirk still puts together some nice solos. He's extremely talented. I'll download the new album only to piss off Lars.

Edit: I've seen them 5 times, the last was the Black album tour in Austin Texas. My least favorite of all their shows.
