Broncos' top two candidates for first-round pick visit on same day

While visiting Dove Valley on the same day, Marcell Dareus and Patrick Peterson doubled the excitement and magnified the dilemma of having the No. 2 draft pick.

What's exciting for the Broncos is they likely will get their choice of the best defensive player with the second pick in the NFL draft. Carolina is expected to use its No. 1 selection on an offensive player, either quarterback Cam Newton or receiver A.J. Green.

I hope this is only half right. As I've said for some time now I hope that Denver selects Dareus and if not him Fairley. For me Peterson is only a consideration if Denver trades down and both Dareus and Fairley are gone.

Like I said if Denver trades down and both Dareus and Fairley are gone and Peterson is sitting there then take otherwise take one of the defensive tackles.

klis keeps banging that drum, but i still believe von miller is our second choice. . . in any way, hopefully it becomes moot as we either pick dareus or trade down. . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Why would be looking at Von Miller? He doesn't fit the 4-3.

Last night on Path to the Draft on NFLN their mock draft had Carolina taking AJ Green at one and Denver taking Cam Newton at two. I was on the verge of vomiting.

i wouldn't say that. . . i would say that the 43 doesn't maximize his talent the way the 34 would, but IMO he has the skillset to excell at WILL or possibly even SAM in a 4-3. . . i don't see it as the best use of his ability unless he goes to a really aggressive team like philly or st. louis that will blitz him a lot, but just because he's a good pass rusher doesn't mean that he doesn't run or tackle well, and he's plenty athletic enough to drop in coverage. . . and he played linebacker in college, so it's not like he's unfamiliar with the required pursuit angles and is a big conversion project. . .

not ultimately the guy i'd pick, but it's never crazy to consider the most explosive pass rusher in the draft. . .

i wouldn't sweat that shit. . . give the duke a little credit, he's not stupid enough to take a player like cam when we already have basically the same guy on the roster-- except one that's a model citizen instead of a thieving, self-promoting assclown. . .

seriously, i'll post a video of myself eating my keyboard if we draft cam newton-- ain't happenin'. . .

I hope they don't draft Miller thinking of Sam as a possibility. I'd be out looking
for somebody to beat up (preferably a woman or child) if they do that. I'm
intrigued, however, with the concept of Miller at MLB . . . think of that size,
power, and speed there, right next to D.J.

Oh please, its not like you can catch a woman or child to even put a hand on them. Unless of course you upgraded to the motorized wheelchair.

With a wheelchair, I don't have to put a hand on them.

    I can just run them over . . .
