Merry.
had to laugh when I saw that highlight. Peyton looks a little odd when he's trying to run it like that. There have been a few QB's taking off a little more over the past few games..
Hey, it's like all the other QB's are trying to say "See, I can run like Vick and Tebow too!"![]()
All you have to decide is what to do with the time given to you...
OK..After reading through the thread...Northern's post makes more sense than the reason GC gave.
How many guys would intentionally give up scoring a touchdown so as to run out the clock at the end of the game? In this hot-dogging look-at-me-look-at-me league, it's refreshing to see somebody put team needs over his own glory.
Yes, if he scores, the Colts are up 12 with a minute and a half to go but in theory the Raiders could have taken the kick-off, scored a quick TD, recovered an onside kick and scored another TD to win the game. Far-fetched, yes, but possible.
By sliding when he did, Manning assured that the Raiders would not see the ball again and the Colts could walk away with a sure five-point win. It was not only selfless, it was intelligent.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.
Maurice Jones-Drew did the same thing last year at this time. The only people that are mad are those who had them on their fantasy football team, otherwise it's a non-issue. Guys like DeSean Jackson would've pranced like a fairy around the 5 yard line before scoring.
