Default Tatum Bell released by Lions...

    http://www.myfoxcolorado.com/myfox/pages/Sports

DENVER (MyFOXColorado.com) - Lions running back Tatum Bell just confirmed to Fox 31's Josina Anderson that he was released by Detroit.

"They just released me and signed Rudi Johnson," revealed Bell.

Bell told Anderson that he immediately called his agent to determine what was going on after he learned the Lions just signed Johnson. Johnson, the former Bengals running back, was released by Cincinnati during training camp.

Various reports recently indicated Johnson was scheduled to work out for Detroit.

"He [Bell's agent, Kennard McGuire] said 'let me make some calls.' He called me back and said they are going to let us walk," said Bell.

Now Bell says all he can do is hope that teams that have shown interest in him in the past want to rekindle the flame.

"Hopefully Houston, maybe Denver. Who are their backs right now," asked Bell.

Bell says he is not down about the situation, and he is confident that his skills are good enough to get him on another team.

"All I can do is pray."

I'll always have a soft spot for Bell because he was so torn up about the Williams death (got me choked up just watching him on tv @ the funeral)...

But in football terms, the dude is soft and can't hang onto the ball. He'd have a better chance trying out for the U.S. track and field team as a sprinter.

Bell is not that bad. He is someone who did pretty well here.

There are much worse rb in the NFL than Tatum Bell. Good luck to him, wherever he goes.

Bell's days in Denver are done (unfortunately for him).

I was always a Bell fan due to his Oklahoma State connections, and rooted for him to succeed in the NFL, but I'd be surprised if Shanny brought him back.

That was a touching moment seeing him like that on tv.

Problem with Bell though is exactly what you said...soft and fumblitis.

HE wanted out of Denver so bad and look where that got him....playing for a Lions.....and then cut by the Lions....

Being cut by the Lions has got to be a humbling experience.

Exactly. Especially at RB where they have been like the bermuda triangle of backs since Barry left. If he can't catch on there, then I'd say it's time to see his way to the CFL.

Bell will probably have to wait until someone gets hurt and their team goes looking during the season. He had better stay in shape. If he does get picked up and doesn't perform, he'll probably be done.

I liked Tatum in some ways. he had that great 2005, and I will always remember him for running over Ray Lewis (who didn't kill anyone, but knows who did ) on a 3rd and 9 draw play.

I would take him back before slow washed up Rudi Johnson in any event

Me too. I think I projected allot of my hate for plummer on him. With Plummer back there we couldnt afford to have a RB fumble.
