    Default Best James Bond Movie

I love every James Bond movie ever made. Pure mental bubblegum, but so freakin' what? Everey Bond has been good in their own way, too. I am not a purist.

The best? "You Only Live Twice" Ernst Stavro Blofeld as the ultimate white cat stroking bad guy, and the coolest supervillain hideout EVER in cinema! A phony volcano is both totally implausible and badass at the same time! There is also a fight between 007 in his mini helicopter and 4 or so bad guy helicopters that is pure fun

    Honorable Mention

Thunderball The first movie I ever saw by myself! Emilio Largo is a great villain, complete with eye patch, his Hydrofoil is great, and the huge speargun fight at the end is pure magic.

From Russia with Love Very early Bond, but a great flick. Excellent gun battle at the gypsey camp, and Rosa Kleb is a totally unlovable villain - complete with poison spiked granny shoes!.

For Your Eyes Only The best Roger Moore Bond movie; Almost nothing could be cooler than the attack on the Greek monastery, as James Bond scales an impossible cliff, in the face of an especially stupid SPECTRE guard

damn, it's been too long since i've watched any of them. . . i think they've all kind of run together. . .

*note to self: put bond flix in netflix queue*

connery was far and away the best bond, but i always liked moonraker a lot. . . .
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

1 > Goldfinger ~ The real birth of the franchise, although the ladies & wise cracks had been there previously, this introduced the final element.................gadgetry

2 > On Her Majesty's Secret Service ~ IMO, George Lazenby played Bond closer to the novels than any other Bond, it's a real shame that there was aggro behind the scenes. Even now, that final scene can cause a lump in the throat

3 > You Only Live Twice ~ Almost perfectly paced, great action sequences, Little Nellie, Ernst Stablo Blofeld (Plesance was great) & Ninjas

4 > Tomorrow Never Dies ~ Jonathon Price is absolutley delicious as Elliot Carver, a personal stake for Bond, and the chase round the parking garage may well be the best in any movie.

5 > Live And Let Die ~ Roger Moore's first outting, IMO the best theme song, a stunning Jane Seymour and a great Villain in Yaphet Kotto.

I'm not sure where to put Casino Royale yet, I like the darker, simpler style, but something just didn't quite sit right for me

The first Bond movie I saw in the theater was Timothy Dalton in License to Kill. I'm jealous!

I'm suprised you weren't put off

First one I saw on the big screen was Roger Moore's final outing, A View To A Kill, although the first one I can remember seeing is The Man With The Golden Gun

Quantum of Solace is going to be good.

The title is based off of a short story appearing in For Your Eyes Only by Fleming. Basically, the term is used to show the period after a split or divorce of lovers, and the period of missing them immediately afterward.

In Casino Royale, the main girl, whatever her name is, dies, so that would apply. And, based on the trailers of Bond with a big ol' machine gun in the desert. Probably pissed off.

I've never been a huge Bond fan, but this next one looks pretty good. Don't mean to hijack the thread, just a heads up.

It does at that. GF, you don't live in some kind of underground lair there in WA, do you? No hideous psychopathic henchmen with the strength of 4 normal men? You don't dress your family in matching jumpsuits I hope?

Dr. No. The original. The best.

From Russia with Love was great...actually every Connery Bond film is great.

Funny story...A kid that was playing for the opposing team of the team I cover last night, his name was James Bond...well...he's a scrub and that team got up big, so they put the scrubs in, he came in, and he is the RB...well, the first time he made a run, the announcer just said it normal, but on his second run, someone convinced him to say "Bond, James Bond, with a four-yard carry." It was hilarious.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Maybe a false volcano, or city submerged in a lake
