Default HELP! NEED ADVICE ...Even Drunken Advice Will Do!

Ok TV Gurus' help me out here...what are the Pros/Cons...what do you recommend? This girl doesn't even have cable...I don't watch that much TV...but with the HDTV deal and pretty much needing a new TV, I thought I'd break down and possibly do Direct TV with the Sunday Ticket...Thoughts?

Oh yeah...and feel free to throw in your 2 cents on TV's too!

Do it, it is my life blood, I love it. Not only for the Broncos......... But every other game. If you break it down, its roughly $20 dollars a Broncos game. which is cheap vs the Bar........
Thanks MO for the wicked Sig.

Hell yeah, you can't beat the ticket. That is the only reason to have a TV, IMO.

As far as TV's go, I have a Samsung LCD (just bought a couple of months ago when I picked up my PS3). I freaking love this TV (LN46A650). Don't know what your price range is, but this was around $1,700 (I think).

I can't believe there are still people who don't get Sunday ticket. I don't know what I'd do without it, and I don't even live out of state.

Believe it or not...when the Broncos were "good" we use to get almost every Bronco game on CBS and then the Chargers got good ...blah ... ugh!

Yeah, I live in Idaho. We get most Broncos games, but since seattle is decent now, sometimes they show the 'hawks. Thats when I either cry myslef to sleep, or hit the bars and end up fighting random raider/bandwagon charger fan. Good times. I should just convince my wife the jail time for assault on raider fan isn't worth the money it would cost for sunday ticket. But hey, thats half the fun right?

I'll ask the question here that's been brought up on every AV forum out there...

Do you NEED a land phone line to get Sunday ticket...? Seems pretty mixed ideas around... I have DirecTV itself without the ticket and without having a phone line.

BTW, I have a Magnavox LCD 52" TV that I picked up at Costco for cheap and absolutely love it! Have been debating Sunday ticket ever since preseason started but I almost have to get the super fan if I get that...

No, I have no phone line and they tried to tell me that the only way to get HD was with a phone line. The only thing a phone line affects is my ability to order pay-per-view movies with my remote-- I have to go online or call to order movies instead, but that's it. Everything else including Sunday Ticket, HD and DVR work fine without a phone line.

I've never had Sunday ticket but after I added the West Coast channels (time shifting I think it's called) to my satellite subscription I've only wound up missing 2 or 3 Bronco games the last couple of years. Until the # of games drops off I'll be keeping the status quo. I can keep the 200.00/year in my Sunday afternoon beer fund...;-)

We switched from Direct TV to cable to save money, and then it became worth it to get Direct TV again. Direct TV has a better picture, and is cheaper than cable.

NFL Sunday Ticket cost about $250 per season (or 5 easy payments of $50 per month). If it's in your budget, go for it. If not, watch what you can and watch the replays on the NFL network.

As for HDTV's, love them. They have really come down in price so you can get a good one for $1k or under.
