Best of the Madchester bands IMO. Well, maybe Stone Roses. I dunno. Love them both. Loved all that stuff

Watching Phantasm, hearing the heavy ominous 70's synth, I'm reminded of this unappreciated gem...the first 90 seconds are gold.

Part at 45 seconds conjures this image

This song has been bouncing around my head on and off all day today, not sure why. Damn good song!

The bass is so on point. Someone remind me, but wasn't this a sort of mini-breakthrough of the Beatles to push the bass to the front of the mix? I want to say from a engineering aspect there was some revolutionary stuff happening on these '64-'66 albums, especially wrt bass guitar.

Bit of trivia--the harpsichord sound in this song comes from recording the studio piano at half-speed and then adding it to the mix at double speed...Beatles kick so much ass. So well produced. Nearly perfect. Like buttermilk and dill. Yin and yang.

I'm listening to these Rubber Soul songs just in awe of the bass.

    Uh oh.
