For starters, consider that Les rarely plays complicated parts (and sometimes doesn't play much at all) when singing, but Rob sings constantly with his playing, which is often ridiculous (playing a 13/8 bass melody). Rob might be the faster player. Les plays in a style using effects that best showcase his vision of what can be done with the instrument. I probably like listening to Les's playing more because the bass stands out so much more than Rob's does.
Rob is better in some ways, Les in others.

Let me clarify that I don't personally think of him as wasted talent because I am a Primus fan from way back, but I think his musical talent has gone overlooked by the majority of people because of the genre he plays.
