JRE #1229 with Richard Rawlings from Gas Monkey Garage. Pretty entertaining podcast. They get pretty shitfaced toward the end.

I casually dig some J&MC. Never heard that one.

Which of course leads to this song.

I wish Hope was more prominent than she was. She was the one who ... well, it was probably Siouxsie actually. The one who made me realize it wasn't all Prince, Beasties, Chuck D, Metallica, Peter Murphy, Ian Curtis, and so forth. My ma was all into the 70's rocker girls like Bonnie Raitt, Ronstadt, and Janis Joplin, maybe growing up with that was good.

Had this phase when I was 21 or so, Tori Amos and 10k Maniacs, etc. Mazzy, Fiona. It ended when Alanis Morrisette arrived, didn't like her. I might like her now.

Son is supposed to go out to DC for a week with his 5th grade class tomorrow. I remember the first time I went away on a trip like that, but it was the summer of my junior year of high school. I remember the first night in Madrid I was listening to this borrowed cassette from this girl Andra, and I really enjoyed this initial song. Crazy new music and crazy new continent.

Stumbled on this heavy-synth thing. For folks that liked Front 242 or maybe NiN, but more on the industrial side of NiN, like Rammstein or thereabouts.

plus that cover art! who is that looking in the mirror? I am the monster.

For those that like to just chill out with some background noise with soundscapes the new Sunn O))) is pretty damn good.

Happy Birthday to my all-time favorite artist. One of the most truly authentic, inspirational, and talented musicians on the planet. I truly dove into him and his music with SYL back in 1996 and have never looked back only watching him grow more and more as the years have gone by.

Happy Birthday Devin Townsend and hope its a great one for you and your family and friends. Thanks for providing all the great music over the years eclipsing with "Empath" this year as well. Cheers!
