I thought the voice sounded familiar...Ben Nichols is in a band called Lucero that I enjoy from time to time.

That song is good enough to make it on my Country spotify playlist. Good rec.

I am not a big Lucero fan - but i think all his solo stuff is pure gold

I’m sure he was going for this, but there were a few moments when his voice and his guitar felt out of sync. I’ll check out some of his other stuff.

I gotcha. Stripped down and solo almost always is the preferable way to consume country. Gets you in your feels, more vulnerable, imperfect, raw. Which is why Townes Van Zandt's live at the Old Quarter album is the GOAT country album.

I liked the title track to his 2009 EP, The Last Pale Light In The West.

Starts at about 14 minutes in.

I know I can't relate to the life of Tupac, but I like his music.

This is amazing too. These two songs have been with me for as long as I can remember listening to music.
