Crazy good, Anneke Van Giersbergen really nails it here with her vocals. The backing vocals during the chorus reminds me a bit of the music from Lost Boys which is pretty cool as well.

I made my wife and kids watch Lost Boys a few months ago, they hated it. I loved it just as much as I did when I was a kid. I'm not going to lie, I lost some respect for my family that day. I'm contemplating changing my will.

Ashen Eidolon--this one holds up to repeated listens more than I thought--lots of styles packed on one 30 minute recording, super danceable, just an outstanding album. Good gateway album, tell your friends. On my short list for acquisition as vinyl.

North, you probably knew this, but it looks like the Gallowbraid guy morphed into Caladan Brood. That kind of makes sense.

What you may not have known is that Caladan Brood comes from Steven Erikson's fantasy epic "Malazan Book of the Fallen" which will the be fantasy series that the next generations will geek out about like we do LotR. That makes it super cool for me...I nerd out on Erikson's works in a way that I do not for Tolkien, Jordan, Martin, etc. It is the best fantasy series ever written.

    Things are coming together.

I read an interview of Adam Turla. Interesting guy. I see why their music resonates with you as much as it does.

Going through my in-law's record collection. Much of it belonged to my wife's grandpa.

Anyway, I came across this and I love it.
