All the talk about concept albums in the other thread sucked me back into Year Zero and the great remix album it produced:

This song has been bouncing around my head all day. Lyrics are so good!

Fill up your mind with all it can know
Don't forget that your body will let it all go

    ..

What would we be without wishful thinking

Trace save a couple songs wasn't the album that got me to buy into Son Volt. It was Wide Swing Tremelo.

I was the cat who read something good about Trace and jumped in, then developed an affinity for Uncle Tupelo and Wilco. Heard some of Farrar's other newer stuff and it was fine. It's too bad Tweedy/Farrar didn't hold up. Farrar had the voice. Drugs I guess?

*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.
