Default How Boneheaded Are The Dolphins?

I mean really. Quinn was rated at one point to go number one overall in this years draft. Then because Russell has one great game and sits the combine he rides an NFL bandwagon all the way to pick number 1. How good to the faiders look for taking him now? Basically he is right for wanting insurance in case he gets hurt but he basically is thirsty for more money even though he hasnt played a down in the NFL yet.

Quinn on the other hand isnt just about the money. He out right stated that he wanted to play for the Browns and if he fell to the Dolphins that he would be happy to be there. The Dolphins have to be the dumbest team to pass on this guy. Quinn is doing what Cutler did last year in preseason which is showing flashes that he is NFL ready and can play at a high level.

I said it before the draft, I said it last year and I said it when Quinn started playing for Notre Dame that the guy is a star. The real deal. How do you not pick this guy at number 9? Better yet how do you pick Ted Gin Jr over Quinn. I'm not saying Ted Ginn isnt going to be a good NFL reciever, im just saying how was in charge of this bone head decision? The coach or the GM?

My brother and cousins are all loyal Dolphin fans but they are still not over this. You build your team around a Quarterback NOT A WR YOU BONEHEADS!!!

How boneheaded are the Dolphins? As boneheaded as the Raiders who (thank the Lord) passed on Jay Cutler.

Ted Ginn isn't going to be a good WR... he will be a return specialist his whole career.

And Quinn is overrated completely... he isn't showing flashes of anything... he attempted a total of about 3 passes that were in the air longer than 10 yards(the 10 yards is probably a bit of an exagerration) in the game against you guys, and only completed 1. Everything else was a dink and dunk that you can throw without even knowing who you are throwing to.

Quinn might be overrated but still a punt returner rather than potential franchise quarterback. It kind of leaves you scratching your head.

That isn't something I will argue. It was one of the dumbest moves I have ever seen in the draft. Ted Ginn wasn't going to be drafted until late 1st at the absolute earliest, and the Dolphins took him at 9. I don't even like the Dolphins and I almost started screaming at the TV lol.

Who is the QB for the Dolphins anyway??? *** SCRATCHES HEAD ***

Not to say anything good about a Raider, but Culpepper looked pretty good in their last preseason game.

I disagree. I thought Quinn looked posed in the pocket and calm under pressure and pretty accurate. He still needs work but I honestly think the Browns could throw him in the fire and he wouldn't get burned to bad.

If he was on a team with a great defense and running game then I would fully agree. However, he is on the Browns who really would have nothing besides Quinn which means he would have to make a lot of plays by himself, and based on what he has shown so far if all he can do real well is throw little dump off passes and stuff... he would be screwed as a starter right now.

I thought the Dolphins were a sure fire pick to take Quinn, too. That being said, Ted Ginn Jr could develop into a solid WR not to mention his kickoff and punt return abilities. That's a solid draft pick for them IMO.

Also, they did get BYU QB Beck, in the 2nd round(I forget his first name) and from what I've seen, he looks to be a viable option as a starter for years to come.

I predict they'll do what the Broncos did last year, start their veteran, and eventually move to Beck later this season. Green is going to get destroyed behind that offensive line anyway.

not to get off point..but didt the fins have the option to take brees for nothing...but traded for culpepper, whos injury was even more questionable then brees's...only to cut culpepper the next year and then have to trade for a old imobile green...then pass on a potential franchise qb to reach way , waaaaaaaaaayyy over their heads to get ginn

now that its in perspective...they are stupid :stupid:

From what I know Beck is a Chris Weinke kind of guy in that he is extremely old, for coming out of college, and wasn't all that great in the first place in college.

As for Ginn being a great WR... first of all I highly doubt it, but even if he does become a great WR you don't take a guy who is seen as a return specialist with the ninth pick in the draft. It just isn't smart, and if he becomes the great WR they will be considered more lucky than smart because that is a ridiculously huge risk to take a guy at 9 that was possibly not even going to be drafted in the first round.

i dont think he is overrated at all. he played on a very mediocre notre dame team and made them look pretty good. if brady had the same team that lienart or young had then he would have won a rose bowl too.

but the nfl which is way more fast paced can be a rookies downfall. so its wise that they sit him at least for half the season. even cutler got to sit most of the year last year. quinn is going to wayyyyy better than fry or the other 2 boneheads they have right now anyway.

i was left scratching my head last year when they passed on brees. but i guess at the time they thought culpeppers imjury wasnt nearly as bad...it was kinda like pick your poison.

but now they have trent green, whom is older than both culpepper or brees. he would have been an awesome mentor for quinn if they would have picked him. i think the dolphins took about 10 steps backwards with this move.

look at the raiders. IF they would have picked cutler last year then they would have a guy by the name of calvin johnson on their roster right now instead of holdout russel. so one teams blunder is another teams goldmine.

I think Quinn, Beck, and Ginn are going to be pretty good football players. Quinn and Beck have been doing pretty well this offseason, and Ginn has started to make catches as Miami's 3rd WR.

If Miami really wanted Ginn, I think they could've traded down a few spots for some value and still have gotten Ginn, but I guess they wanted to be sure. Beck is very underated; he has good poise and decision making, and a pretty good arm. In the college game I saw of Beck, the sportscasters mentioned that he and his teammates were older than the usual college kids and also much more mature, with most of them were already married. Maybe it also had to do with the Mormon missions a lot of them take.
