“What fresh hell is this?”
"A man who picks a cat up by the tail learns something which he can learn in no other way." - Mark Twain
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe. - Albert Einstein
Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act. - Dietrich Bonhoeffer
I don't mind either way. The only thing I care about as far as politics go is that it is not carried out of that arena. A bit of rivalry over ideas is never harmful; it's usually enlightening, in fact. What is harmful, though, is when you carry that rivalry into other topics. I'd compare it to a relationship where one party screwed up the dishes. Talk about it when you do the dishes the next time; don't talk about it when you're shopping for shoes and make a big scene of it. It's not only unnecessary and out of place, it's incredibly awkward for everyone else having to listen to two people yell at each other about dishes in a shoe store.
How's your burger, bro? - Ancient proverb
I agree with LT, if you did the dishes right in the first place...
Seriously, you make an excellent point. It's a little off topic for this thread, BUT an excellant point and everyone should work harder about not allowing P&R differences to spill into other areas.
Personally, I can't see any downside to making P&R opt in![]()

The Whiskeyteers ~ One for all, and all for more
As there is no real downside (other than search engines will not catalog the posts) in making P & R opt in, based on the feedback I have received here, I will make Politics and Religon to seperate opt in forums. I'll get it done sometime this week. Not sure exactly when.
Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks, Tned. Could you post a general message once you have done this? I may forget to opt-in.
