Shanahan, Lynch Agree He's Leaving Broncos

    Reporting
    Vic Lombardi DENVER (CBS4) ―
John Lynch is exploring other options for his future and leaving the Denver Broncos, CBS4 News reports.

Lynch and coach Mike Shanahan met Wednesday afternoon. Lynch told Vic Lombardi that Shanahan gave Lynch permission to look for a new team, consider a broadcasting career or retire.

Lynch was not happy over his lack of practice time as he competes for a starting safety position. He took a pay cut to return for his 16th season as an NFL player. But he wanted an opportunity to be a full time starter at safety.

Lynch was not at practice Wednesday morning and had missed a team meeting Tuesday night.

Lynch told Lombardi he would be at Dove Valley Thursday to address the situation further.

Gary Miller reports other teams, like the San Diego Chargers, where Lynch is from, would be interested in him.

I truly am sad to see him go

If we wind up trading safeties with the chargers, we get the dirty end of the stick on this one..

Here is hoping they are not interested in him and he plays else where or goes into broadcasting..

Although if he can play in SAN near home that is OK by me..

    Agreed.

I hope he just retires (to the booth).

Awww Man! That sucks! Please don't sign with Chargers or Raiders. I would be damned if he goes neither to San Diego or Oakland.

Agreed 100%. This is going to be crucial. Jay has already started down the leadership path but the D needs someone to rally behind.

his leadership didnt do crap last year, and he is a liability in coverage. My only regret is my son got a Lynch jersey on Sat for his B-day.......... I missed 50% by a few days.
Thanks MO for the wicked Sig.

Well considering the load he was having to carry perhaps you might want to lighten up..

I would think that if your son likes Lynch it would make me happy.. there are others he could want to emulate, such as Marshall..

I will miss John Lynch out there.. a true dedicated player.. I do not think you can say he ever tanked a play..

I think we'll see Hamza laying some wood, and I've heard a lot about Niko's pop.

I don't know about vocal though. D.J. isn't very vocal, from what I've heard.
Maybe Boss, once he gets settled it, or Niko? But they're pretty new yet.
