Long before you were born, I'm sure!

I know this, but it seems like they've moved to having 5-6 episodes, taking 5-6 months off, then producing another 5-6 episodes, then another 5-6 months off...

I don't remember having to wait so long when the series started before the next season started. Maybe it's just so good, I'm not remembering it right, and we binge watched the first 2-3 seasons...

You're right on that, there are more breaks and less episodes now than there were on shows in previous decades. At least it certainly seems that way.

Really disappointing season. Hell, I fast forwarded through parts of episodes in the back half of the season. Stories and acting overall was just meh...just not compelling stuff.

I keep checking here to see if the show has picked up but it seems to suffer the same problems. I think they should've set up the show to have an end point at like season 5 or 6 so that you know they are working towards a resolution one way or another. I love Game of Thrones but I don't think I could take 8-10 seasons of them slowly gathering armies while a dwarf makes quips while drinking wine (though that sounds good in theory). Knowing something will end forces the writers not to be lazy with things like cliffhangers or HANGING OUT ON A FARM FOR THE ENTIRE SECOND SEASON. I gave up halfway through season 3 because it just turned into a gimmick where it was really intriguing opening, slow ass "character" building, HOLY CRAP ZOMBIES! Then cliffhanger... Lather, rinse, repeat. We get it, the Walking Dead refers to the people not the zombies. There are so many shows that would be remembered as great if they ended at a reasonable time. Dexter should have ended with the John Lithgow season.

    Nailed it.

The comic book series should have ended after about 12 graphic novels. It's not that the quality declined or it got overly stale, you just get to a point where you have had enough. For some that point comes earlier than others. It makes sense to continue to churn product if it's selling, though.

I've been bored with it (for the most part) for the past two seasons yet I still continue to watch.
    Not sure why.

Shut your whore mouth! I still read the comics and watch the show and still find myself thoroughly entertained.

I find myself thoroughly entertained by you. This episode of GEM was pretty decent.

The past 2 seasons I like to compare my Walking Dead experience to driving by a nasty accident on the highway.
I tell myself I'm not going to look.... but I do.
It's like an addiction now more than anything.

I am with you. I still watch faithfully, but I don't think I'm as zealous as I used to be.

My daughter was a big fan but she stopped watching after Glenn and Abraham met the wrong end of Lucille.
I still let her know if anything cool happens...;-)
