Ugh, I'm hating the show right now. There is no hope right now.
The only saving grace is Jeffrey dean Morgan is so damn good at being Negan.

Because of the situation the group is in. There's just no hope right now, no light at the end of the tunnel. It is making it hard for me to watch. I knew it was coming, the show getting much darker, because the same happened in the comic, but it's just really dark right now. Show is still my favorite, just don't like the subject matter at this time.
I have been out for a couple of weeks, so just got caught up yesterday. They are certainly building Negan up to be the perfect psycho. But I hope the showrunners don't just beat down Rick's crew for all of the first half of the season. I am not really interested in another handful of episodes like the last couple. I get that they are setting up the pay-back factor, but I think viewers will not be happy with a half-season of neutered Rick.
I don't want comic book (errr, graphic novel) spoilers, because I like to be surprised, but from what I've gathered, there is speculation that this could go on for more than a season.
I haven't read the comics at all but I think a great story arc for this situation would be for Daryl to be 99% broken and actually go to the dark side for a while.
Then Rick and the gang could focus on how to get him back instead of just being scared and subservient all the time.
And when they finally turn him back to the good side they all take turns beating Negan to a pulp...from the toes up.
