    Default Clady/Royal on Contracts..

With Camp due to start Friday, I dont think I have seen Clady and Royal signed yet, I believe they may be the only two we are still working on getting signed. I sure hope neither hold out. They dont seem like the kind of guys that would. Thoughts?

I think only four first-rounders have signed so far. He'll (Clady) get in there.

Royal should be signed this week for sure. I don't see him having much leverage in getting a bigger contract, he was drafted higher than expected.

Clady, on the other hand, has some leverage knowing that he was Denver's No. 1 choice and knowing that he's the starting Left Tackle.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

All three are unsigned as of right now. Looks like the intent is to get them signed by Thursday...I'd be surprised if that doesn't happen.

    I was thinking about this.

The problem is Chris Long got a 16% raise from last years slot. Stupid Rams. Jake Long didnt get anywhere near that.

This could complicate things, especially if Cladys agent starts pumping his mind with "The Broncos HAVE to sign you.........they have no one else."

This kid has to be in camp on time, first and foremost if hes going to play.

We do need him in camp.........but its going to set the stage for some friction right off the bat.

Just what we're all hoping for, eh?

    IN PATON I TRUST.

If Clady's not in camp on Friday I'll be surprised. We do have Pears backing him up though and you have to believe that if Clady holds out for very long...Pears will get the nod to begin the season.

I really doubt Clady will let that happen.

You might be surprised. It happens every year in camp with some picks.

He isn't going to report without a contract. That would be foolish. He isn't going to just sign something so he can be in at the start of camp.

SOmething will work out, it's just a matter of time, but it's very possible that it overlaps a few days into the start of training camp.

I worded it poorly. What I should have said was I don't believe Clady will allow any holdout to jeopardize his slot in the starting lineup.

Lol these guys will be signed, Im not about to start worrying about it. He was the 12th pick not the 2nd pick. Jay was signed around this time wasnt he? Dont really remember all i know is he was signed before camp. Both will be inked before training camp and both are class acts. Give it a couple more days.

We'll get at least JMFW and Royal by camp's start. We never have someone late. The latest in recent memory was Cutler and he was ten minutes late to the Thursday night meetings. This year the (potential) uncapped year creates some new and creative language that is taking more time in the contracts. That might slow Clady and others.

I dont think the NFL will have a uncapped year or what not. That would be so bad of a look for a bunch of rich wealthy people to be crying about money.

Looking at what it would mean for the veterans I don't think the players want an uncapped year either.

But the contracts should still be prepared for it. That means that they are going to take longer whether it happens or not.

We'll really get to see what Clady is made of by how he handles this situation.

I believe we are going to be pleasantly surprised. Having had the opportunity to hear both Clady and Royal at the Fan Fare at Invesco last month. They both seem very humble guys. Good character guys. I honestly believe these two will soon ease their way into leadership type roles who the other players will in time admire.

    So did lichtenstiger, lichstenstien, lichenbergerstien.??????

    Whatever.
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
