    Good point.

Buff, metaphorically hug me as it takes no commitment.

    Avengers: Infinity War- N/A

Oh boy..... Probably going to have to ponder this more before i can give it a score. On the surface this is probably my least favorite of the series so far but there are a lot of things to unpack with it as well. Ill come back after ive thought it over more.

You mean series as Avengers movies or Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole? I'd instantly put Age of Ultron, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, and a few other waaaay below Infinity War. Though I am not quite on the "OMG BEST MOVIE EVAH!" train because I can see it's faults. A big one is that you need to have so much time invested in it to even get a coherent experience out of it. I can't imagine walking into that movie without seeing at least 80% of the movies they released the last decade. I'd love to take Buff to this and then write up an interview on how confused and upset he is from his experience.

My daughter was the same. She immediately said this was the worst movie evah! And a kid a few seats down said he hated this movie.

As far as the Avenger movies are concerned.

Gotcha. I can see that, I guess. I wonder what kind of cultural staying power this movie will have all things considered? Like we still talk about the original Star Wars flicks to this day, but no one references Avatar or even seems to care that sequels are on the horizon for that movie even though it was one of the top grossing movies of all time. It's crazy when billion dollar + earning movies seems to be forgotten almost as quickly as they come.

I think these movies will be in the middle. They are 'safe' movies - fun, cool stuff, production that at least loos like it will age well, and related to something that is relatively static in terms of culture - and they've spanned a decade, which is a good sign. Some will be better remembered than others, but even that's not bad. How many times a year does someone click on an article talking about the most underrated or overlooked movie in a 'genre' or series? They're almost like their own little cottage industry.

Maybe people don't like the mirror to our society that avatar held up! Enjoyed the movie, hated the prophetic close parallel (maybe)
