The Martian 8/10 Finally broke down and saw a Matt Damon movie even though I hate him. Good flick, well done, somewhat believable/realistic.

Suicide Squad 6 of 10. Really really wanted to like this more, just an obviously bad attempt from DC to try to keep up/copy what Marvel is doing. Just poor storytelling and weak script. It was worth it just to lay my eyes on Harley Quinn, who is impossibly hot. My biggest beef was how the witch's brother, who was unfathomably powerful and invincible, wreaking devastating havoc and leaving a trail of wreckage like a nuclear bomb, all the sudden forgot how to do that when he faced the suicide squad. Secondly, as hot as quinn is, no way in hell would she keep up with the real supervillains armed with a baseball bat and a revolver. Her crazy ass would have been smoked 2 minutes into the movie.

I liked the movie, but having them go against something so powerful was a dumb idea. It should have been them going after a drug dealer named Bane in the South American jungle. Maybe the sequel will be more in line with the comics which are great. Though I guess technically their job was to extract Amanda Waller, the gods were just another obstacle they had to deal with.

I hear Van Damme never removes his sunglasses in that movie. Is that true? If so I am seeing it tonight.

    Elstree 1976- 9/10

This is a documentary about the extras and stand ins for the film Star Wars. I was really fascinated by David Prowse who played the physical version of Darth Vader throughout the three films although the voice was obviously by Jones. He can also be remembered as the bodyguard Julian in A Clorkwork Orange. There is a wide range of people being interviewed with characters such as stormtroopers to Greedo the bounty hunter. The one guy who played one of the pilots who becomes victim to Vader when the rebel forces are attacking the Death Star actually was reading his lines from notes that were taped to his legs because Lucas did not want him to use cues for those scenes. Another guy had worked as an extra on a few James Bond flicks and even Indiana Jones but never made it any further as an actor. This was well worth the watch for any Star Wars fan because the stories are very interesting and fun from a trivia standpoint.

*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.
