Fun and grim view of the future.
I was surprised to see one scene and it wasn't in the book. (Horror scene)

    The Machinist

    Christian Bale, Drama/Thriller

Deep Impact is a vastly superior film to Armageddon. Vastly.

The scenario is much more realistic.

Armageddon: Flying into space with an imaginary rocket equipped with an imaginary missile to shoot at an asteroid to somehow throw it off target (are you effing kidding me?). And the idea that the only people who can accomplish this task are some group of oil rig ruffions from the neverlands of the American west? Come'on man. Everyone celebrates because everyone lives as this completely imaginary nuclear bomb breaks up the asteroid, well except the six crew members .

Deep Impact: Morgan Freeman is president. And let's be honest. Everyone wants Morgan Freeman as president. Asteroid slams into Atlantic, causing tsunami that kills most of the population of the world, and only those who make it inland and underground are guaranteed to survive. Way more realistic of a scenario.
OMG i actually agree with you in something. I should go get checked out.

Wait until you see Part II! Just so you know, it ends there. Don't even look for other films in the series.

I like part 1 better personally myself, but part 2 is great and many consider it the superior movie. Arguments can be made both ways. Part III is a bit of a mess.

GF3 was missing Tom Hagen. If Robert Duvall was in the role it would have been much better. Andy Garcia and Joe Monetgna gave it their best.

GF3 is 'good', but misses the supporting cast. Anyone who saw 1 and 2 deserves to see 3.

Godfather I and II are probably the best 1-2 punch of any 2 movies. Some come close like,

Star Wars & Empire Strikes Back
    Superman I & II
Airplane! 1 and 2... ok part 2 recycled most of part 1. This is my own personal preference lol.
    Terminator 1 & 2
I liked Back to the Future II but I hear a lot of people calling it the weakest of the trilogy. As a trilogy it's one of the best of all time IMO.

I know I'm missing a ton of Parts 1 and 2 but IMO the first two Godfathers are the best 1-2 punch of all time. I agree with Shazam!, Hagan should've been in III.

    The Commuter

    7/10

    The script gets 5.
The suspense adds 4 to the ranking.
The ending subtracts 2 for a final score of 7.

There were a couple parts that worked well enough for me not to think this was a Taken spinoff. I never got that feeling which I was afraid of.

Not quite the flawless masterpiece the reviews make it out to be, but still a great coming of age movie propelled by strong performances. It almost falls into the trap of being a formulaic teen movie but there is enough nuance and heart to keep you engaged in the story. Some of the plot points were telegraphed for me, but ultimately the emotional moments at the end felt earned.
I liked the football coach doing drama with the kids and preparing them for the "play" in playbook style
