This documentary is outstanding. I am so impressed by Debra Zane, Mark Johnson, Sam Rockwell, and Dean Parisot. Wow, what an interesting piece of modern art.

    Jaws.

It's one of the finest films ever made. It's one of the finest horror films ever made.

Watch it as soon as possible. Again!

The Vast of the Night 7.5/10

Hawg, you were looking for Pontypool vibes. Here’s your movie, on Amazon.

The Hustler - makes me think of the brief stint I supported myself through playing poker. Granted this movie was about pool, but still.

    The Hunt...8/10

Fun watch. Very entertaining. Plenty of violence but doesn't take itself too seriously. Highly recommend it.

Rocketman was a good movie but almost as depressing as McCarthy's The Road.

Yea, as good as Bohemian Rhapsody was it had very little to do with Mercury's private life (according to my wife the rest of the band didnt want to be invasive or make it about that part of his life or not be all about it) but Rocketman really showcased the struggles that John went through from childhood to his resurgence. Depressing but really really good and i actually ended up liking it more than BR because of that.

0.0 Mhz - 6/10 Mostly well conceived and executed Korean haunt story that is great for the first 75% but overstays its welcome.

Exorcism of Emily Rose - 7.25 / 10. Enjoyed this one. Has the mom from Ozark as lead. Cool story, wish it was a bit darker or something.

Vast of Night - 7/10. Pontypool is a good comp actually. Has a kind of Art Bell meets Twilight Zone vibe. Pretty tight--the carpenter squared the corners real well.

Barkley Marathons - 6.5/10. Interesting doc about this weird footrace inspired by a prison escape that involves 100-130 miles and ~30k feet of elevation gain.

Paddle to Seattle - 5/10. Two dudes and a camera take kayaks a couple thousand miles down the BC coast. They meet a whale and a bear, but no one gets the girl.

The Dead Zone - 6/10. I just read the book and it was basically an abridged version without the glory of cinema. It did have Christopher Walken though! Without having read the book, probably a 7/10.
