I am skipping holidays this year because my dad passed away last August. This is my first holiday without a dad. So, I chose National Lampoon's Vacation over Christmas Vacation.

    National Lampoon's Vacation (1983)
9/10 A classic! One of the great movies of the 80s.

Sorry to hear that bud. It does get better, it never fully heals but it does get better. Just remember the good times you had with your dad.

    We love you, M7.

I watched Rebel Moon on Netflix. It was pretty dang good, some parts felt rushed and unearned, and that's what stops it from getting really high marks. 7.5 out of ten.

Rebel Moon on NETFLIX 1 out 10. No story line, no character development, no plot, horrible editing. All it is mishmash of 7 samurai, some Star Wars and pulling in King Arthur story line. If anyone thinks this is a good movie then they have no taste what so ever. Horrible.........
"We saw it…. the hussars let loose their horses. God, what power! They ran through the smoke and the sound was like that of a thousand blacksmiths beating with a thousand hammers

They rush on to the Swedes! They crash into the Swedish riters…. Overwhelm them! They crash into the second regiment - Overwhelmed! Resistance collapses, dissolves, they move forward as easily as if they were parading on a grand boulevard

I had no issue with it. I have plenty of taste. Perhaps you were to hype for it and the letdown was huge.....for me prob 7.5/10. Not as good as I expected but I actually believe part 2 will be good and the Snyder version will prob bring the 7.5 to an 8 or 8.5 for me.....

Kind of where I'm at. I didn't think it was great, and it seemed like it was a bit of a rip off of Star Wars and some others. I read Zack Snyder originally came up with the idea then he was 14 or so, and from that, it makes sense, as it looks like an amolgamation of movies he probably saw as a kid, starting with Star Wars.

Entertaining, but not amazing. I'm looking forward to part II.

Yeah, I liked it, didn’t love it. It was good enough, particularly near the end, to get me interested in seeing part 2.
Rebel Moon = darker Star Wars meets Magnificent 7 in space. The villain is so well played that you absolutely hate him, and of course he is reborn!

I thought the barroom scene was probably the director paying homage to Star Wars, but was ruined by lack of imagination. Anyway, I think one would have to like the genre to appreciate it, but would understand why some would pass. 6.75/10

    Dune: Part 2: 9/10

An improvement over the first in many ways (not that the first was bad at all!) so that's saying something!

At nearly 3 hours, the movie seems to go by in a flash. They do a good job of translating the important parts of the book without getting bogged down in the details. There is a LOT of story crammed in here but the way it's done is easy to follow, and the action set pieces are immaculate. Big shout out to Austin Butler (Elvis!) for putting in a great villainous performance.

Cinematography. Sound. Story. Action. See it on the big screen with Dolby ATMOS if you can!

The sound was amazing. I love Denis Vilawhatever(not enough to Google his name even though this takes more keystrokes) he is a gift. That dude is absolutely the best filmmaker in the world right now.

Great movie BTW. Loved the B&W look of that one planet. The bad guys are so bad and the good guys ain't much better I suppose. I guess that's kinda the point eh?
