No. There is some stuff that works as horror for sure, and for that reason it earns a place in my heart. More along unsettling lines than horror, but it's both.

It is decent as a horror movie. But I'd describe it as a creepy clever movie.

It just really worked for me overall. There's layers, and I really liked the layers.

I want to talk to someone about it, someone literary. I think it was a pretty clever movie.

Not scary at all. Even partially
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

    Aw

So I take it you didn't like it?

It kept me guessing, it was eerie, great atmosphere, but most of all poetic social commentary that wasn't preachy.

    Clerks 3: 8/10

I’ll always love early Kevin Smith, and this is as close as he’s come to that in a long time. Take this review with a grain of salt because I saw this with a great crowd tonight at the Paramount Theater in Denver, and the movie was hosted by him, but so was the last one I saw (Jay and Silent Bob Reboot) and I didn’t care for that one!

The movie makes some heavy narrative choices early on, and while the jokes come fast and often, the ending actually has an emotional weight that surprised me in a good way. Your mileage will vary, but I thought this movie was on par with some of his better movies and it was great to wrap up this story.

My favorite subplot is Elias (the Christian nerd from Clerks 2) renouncing Jesus for Satan and appearing in increasingly elaborate death metal/rock outfits and face paint. Also Jay and Silent Bob owning a weed store next to Quick Stop but still selling the drugs out front was stupid in the best way.

I didn’t think he had a movie like this left in him, but it’s a return to form in many ways. If you hated that form, avoid this movie! If you liked Clerks, Mallrats, Dogma, etc this is right up your alley.

Yes, I just wanted something at least on par with Clerks 2 and it hit that groove right away! Actually, I'd say I haven't really "loved" a Kevin Smith movie since Clerks 2 with the exception of Zack and Miri Make a Porno.

You can see some of Elias' transformation in the trailer lol "This is where I renounced Jesus... so weird being back."

I enjoyed it. The rewatchability factor is decent on this movie.
I know there are no scary movies anymore so I'm not disappointed when one is not (none are). I like Dustin, like the guy from IT and his role surprised me. I thought it was a cool idea.

Parts I was left off on:

[Spoilers/] did I get the spoiler tag right? Better test first [spoilers]

    lol

I really liked it. There was minimal jumpscare, and it was almost cringe Scream type cheap trick bad, but ok, if that makes sense. And one moment of sorta genuine horror, it worked. I think.

when the cave titty bitch brained the hero lol

It kept the vibe tho. I can't put my finger on it, but it's a sort of serotonin anxiety vibe. That A24 thang.

But it felt like the movie had purpose, and it encouraged me to explore that purpose. On my own terms. I appreciate that.

I really like even more now...That was a damned good movie.

    parts I was left off:

How would an inbred with little nutrients aside from humans get so big and strong?
The black guy said she wasn't the worst thing down there. What was? Old dying rapey guy?
Why was the black guy still living there if things were so bad?
The cops being overly dismissive (but I get that this was the intent as a reflection on current world issues)...still it felt too forced.
Rental cars, bnbs, etc...they'd have sent out a search party for her long ago

    Things I liked:

How bnbs can look great but aren't/surrounding area.
Dustin raping that woman and then tossing the other off the building lol. He had to go.
The IT guy getting offed right away, those character shocks are good.
How rapey dad burrowed underneath all of those houses and took over the entire town. Peeps would legit have no way of knowing if this were happening. Creepy.
Acting was good and only the cops felt bad/forced.
It reminded me of the hills have eyes, but modern day in a city
