Unwatchable filth. I had lofty expectations but ended up with extreme disappointment. I’d rather watch sharknado
You are officially the worst poster ever. Impressive.

Watching Aliens. Kinda weird seeing Johnny Ringo and Cpl Hicks in consecutive nights. Didn't expect that, had to look it up.

    Aliens: I want your take.

Back when it just came out, my best friend had a major complaint. He said that the distance tracking device mechanic really took away from the raw horror that 'could have been'. That comment, the disappointment in his voice, it stuck with me.

I'm watching now, and I have mixed feelings.

What say you--is the prox sensor a great horror device?

I can see his point a bit, however the scene where the Aliens come through the ceiling wouldnt work given the context with the device and Hicks looking up in the ceiling to check. Secondly, unlike Alien, Aliens was more an action flick than horror film.

Agreed, Alien was Sci-Fi Horror and Aliens was straight-up Sci-Fi Action. The tracking device was used to create tension and show how overwhelming the alien onslaught was and to have the presence of the aliens known without having to show them too much. Its a great narrative technique of "show not tell" that Cameron uses.

    Tomorrow War

    7/10

Cheesy fun popcorn film. Interesting plot on where the aliens came from. It was once described as Starship Troopers for Dummies. I can see that.

Anything with Yvonne Stravosky (sp??) is a winning movie in my book.

    Chinatown: A true masterpiece.

Set in corrupt Los Angeles a private detective with a sense of duty, self-preservation, and irreverent morality tries to find a way to do some good. With a do it yourself attitude and a penchant for toughness he slowly unravels a mystery. Along the way he seemingly falls in love/lust and discovers horrifying secrets about his city, the power structure, and moral bankruptcy. With one of the more unique endings, especially for its' time, Chinatown tells a harrowing story about what happens when worst human beings gain power.

    Jolt- 9/10

Much better than i anticipated it would be.

The non-aging and gorgeous Kate Beckinsale plays a woman who grows up with an issue of controlling her anger and emotional outbursts. All while growing up she tries different things and therapies to try and help her not have the outbursts. Finally she uses a beta device that sends a jolt of shock into her body to calm her down. She lives a secluded life until she goes on a blind date and meets a guy who she connects with but before they can go on another date he is killed by someone and she takes it upon herself to hunt down his killer. So with the skillset she has learned in the past she goes on a rampage of sorts while out witting the police.

Agreed on both points. She's ageless and it was much better than I expected. I really enjoyed it.

I don't think I've ever seen that. I've seen the China Syndrome and Big Trouble in Little China, but don't think I've ever seen Chinatown.

I hadn't heard about this until reading this thread. Looking forward to watching it after viewing the trailer.

I was blown away by it. But I like gritty/noir/depressing/harsh/jaded/cynical/unhappy/miserable/self-loathing stuff, so there's that.
