    Alita Battle Angel

I really enjoyed it - the effects and action scenes are amazing, there are also some really cool throwaway one liners - like "**** your mercy"

    BUT

It felt like it was two movies worth, crammed into one - and a result, some fo the plot lines were rushed, and others not explored properly at all.

It is clearly set up for a sequel, yet still stands alone (you can decide what happens next) - but there are just too many unanswered questions for me to truly love this movie.

i wish they had done it better as it should have been 10/10 - instead, i would give it 6/10 for the story

I enjoyed this trailer for a new movie featuring Beatles songs directed by the Trainspotting director:

    BlacKkKlansman 8/10

Blackkklansman is a must see film, in particular just to learn about this historial true story about Ron Stallworth. It happened in Colorado Springs.

Note: I didn't know it was in Colorado Springs... That town has a Deaf Community and they have Colorado School for the Deaf in CS. Interesting!

Cool movie. Great special effects and a good story line. Worth watching on the big screen. Kinda long though.

The Hate U Give. Pretty solid movie with a conscience. Led to good conversation with my teens.

A bunch of folks you recognize but no huge stars. Main character was Rue from hunger games. Archie from Riverdale is in it too. Sabrina Carpenter, Common, Anthony Mackey. And a few more

We finally got around to watching Bohemian Rhapsody. I had forgotten how many really good songs Queen put out. Very good movie.

The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part: ★★★★☆

I remember hearing about the first Lego movie and thinking it would basically be a commercial for the toys and then being pleasantly surprised by a subversive and witty comedy that rivaled movies aimed at adults. Once again, this latest entry in the Lego movie series has just enough biting humor for adults and silly stuff for the kids that it makes a great family movie that won't have you rolling your eyes. It doesn't keep the kinetic energy all the way through like the first one did, but the pacing is done well enough that the movie feels like a breeze as you watch it. And of course once again the music was top notch. I particularly liked the end credits song by Beck/The Lonely Island.

Breaking In...solid flick. Definitely worth the watch. Nothing special overall but I wouldn't turn it off if it was on TNT some random afternoon.

    Alita - 7.5/10

Uneven, but the ideal type of movie for IMAX 3D. Some solid 3D segments and scenes, cool protagonist.

I have to say this though...they showed a preview of How To Train Your Dragon 3 and the 3D actually worked in this one. I can't wait to see it again. I realized how much I liked it and think I wasn't generous enough with my initial rating, so I'm going to bump it to 9.5/10. I'd put money on it that it will end up being my favorite movie of the year.

I'll get the Frozen review ready.
