I thought Brad Pitt was really good playing a caricature of a US general in modern warfare. It's a dark comedy, but there's some meaning to it. You'll probably like it more than me as it definitely has a particular political slant.

By this I assume it is anti war, or at least mocking towards our reasons for going to war!

Somewhat subtly, but yes, it's definitely there. Particularly the late 20th and 21st century wars the western world has gotten itself into.

There's one specific, lower-level character who plays the foil that leads to that underlying theme.

You can spot him right away, and it's an interesting choice of who the actor is too.

Also, where do we put Netflix comedy specials? The movie thread?

    Hassan Minhaj 9/10

    Loved it.

Edit: Just a tip, if you can't suspend your politics or hate Hollywood, don't click on this one either.

I watched about 5 minutes of Norm MacDonald's Netflix special. I thought it was awful.

    War machine 8/10

Loved it. Brad Pitt fits a great job playing that character.

Loved the political commentary, just a good movie that should make us all question wtf we do on the world stage...... Before appointing bob

I had high hopes and it started out good but peterd out. I liked that it took political shots, but it took them at both sides.

Yeah, I enjoyed "turn off Fox, we don't want to be screamed at by perverts all day"

But most of all I enjoyed the German politicians assessment...... Which really aligns with my own opinion on how to mission out there changed, but no one seemed to notice

Ant Man - It was good, but not great. There weren't any real flaws because it was the movie it was supposed to be, but the movie it was supposed to be was just a funny and visually impressive movie.

7.5 out of 10. I became more forgiving towards the superhero genre. i'm not sure - I'll just chalk it up to me being a better person than everyone else.

    Moonraker

9/10 I'm usually a Connery guy, but maybe since Roger Moore just died, I'm kinda emo for him. He plays the character perfect. The brooding Daniel Craig should take note. Smile you jackass. You have a martini and a dime piece.

Moonraker is one of the worst movies ever made.
