The Fate of the Furious- 8/10

Surprisingly i enjoyed this much more than anticipated. Definitely liked it more than the last one of the series. The only drawbacks are again like the last one there are some very improbable moments where they seem way to over the top (i know, it should be expected for a movie like this) and i didnt really get the resolution i personally wanted in the end but it definitely leaves the door open for yet another sequel. But, the plot was really good and Theron shined as the villain in this installment.

    Alien: Covenant- 9/10

I cant remember if they are doing a third one before its supposed to connect to the original Alien or not but this was good. Certainly a bit more action packed than Prometheus but not on par with Aliens. Either way, some great acting by Fassbender playing duel roles of the androids Walter and David. Also sheds a lot of light on the evolution of the Xenomorph itself.

Were any animals consumed during the movie?

Frankly I don't blame the guy. He gave his heart and soul and then the fan base tossed him aside as worthless. I wouldn't want to be a buccaneer either.

Weird movie. Best thing was having the chic that my wife kept saying, "she could play a young Amy Adams" actually in a movie with Amy Adams.

Didn't know about the controversy, but when I saw it, I had the "ok, they ticket the box" moment. Gay love. Interacial. Interspecies...

I was pleasantly surprised. I got home from Germany last week and the wife says, "I waited to watch Beauty and the Beast until you got home" and I'm like, "geez, thanks." Turns out I really enjoyed it.

This weekend we watched Life, which I also thought was pretty good. I'm typically not a fan of horror or suspense, when it has a horror type component, but I was surprised I liked it.

The other thing I watched about a month ago, when I took a week off, was the Harry Potter series. We watched one each day, and I really got into that. Much, much better than I expected. I was bummed when I got to the last one.

    Valhalla 9/10

Madds mikkelsen is as usual compelling in the role. The guy has quietly become one of my favorite actors.

The scene where they are getting the dude out of Juarez is intense.

The guy from Burn Notice stole the movie.

I had never seen those movies or read those books. I got my son the set and we went through them together starting at Christmas and when we'd finish a book we would watch the movies. Very well done series. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them didn't quite catch that same feeling for us, but I will keep checking them out as they come.

Felt the same about fantastic beasts. I saw that first and nearly didn't let my wife talk me into watching the Potter series after seeing beasts.

One of the movies I'm most looking forward to is the next star trek. I really like this cast and what they are doing with the movies.
