I spent most of that movie thinking it's the best movie I've ever seen. Better than Donnie Darko, my personal fave.
I need to see it again, sober. Damn it was solid.

Saw Rocketman last night. Sounded great on my surround sound. The actor who played Elton John nailed it, especially with his singing. Hit the high notes just like Elton.
I think Slim could have played Elton John as well.
Rocket man 10 out of 10
Totally amazing
Not my genre but it was totally awesome
The King 7/10
Henry V’s rise to power. A little over the top in a few places, but nevertheless entertaining.
The 'Lion King' CGI is a great movie. I loved it.
Eli 8.5/10
Creep factor on high. Good shit. No spoilers. The twist is damn good.
So I can give a rating to The Lighthouse - 9/10
That's personal though, I'd never recommend it. I ended up seeing it 3 times: 1st drunk as a dog and I intermittently passed out the final 30 minutes or so, 2d had to leave 30 minutes early, and finally tonight, to get that final 30 minutes.
The good: trippy ass movie. I can forgive a lot if the movie offers some novelty. The novelty of this movie is: 1) the dialogue, 2) the atmosphere, 3) the straight up weirdness.
From the director:
And that's why it's not a 10/10. I don't think they stuck the landing. But it's hard as hell to do that with concept movies, so w/e's. Still enjoyed it. 9/10It was always the idea to have this film be a bit obscure and ambiguous and, for lack of a better word, weird. That was definitely something I wanted from the beginning. That it would be, maybe not scary, but tense and hallucinatory and strange and provoke more questions than it would provide answers. However, the ending, and the final image, took some time. My brother and I had an act one and two that we really liked, but every time we tried to outline the whole movie, we didn’t have an act three. We finally just said, okay, act one and act two are in good shape; let’s just write those.

Wasn't an easy movie to watch but so original, beautifully photographed and acted that it leaves a major impression.
My 18 year old daughter looked over at me when the credits rolled and said..."What the **** did we just witness?"
I said, "I don't know but I think I liked it"...;-)
