God we over romanticize the early years...
No, Abe. I don't. I think it's just easy to look backwards and only see the good while not seeing/hearing the bad. I also think it's easy to hoist up that which is older and not give credit to the contemporary based on something coming first. I don't, for instance, care who threw the first forward pass. I do know, however, Dan Marino perfected it. I don't care that Fran Tarkington (who is a HoFer and a worthy one at that) was one of the first mobile QB's when guys like Elway and now Mahomes perfected it.
I don't know what any of what your saying has to do with sharing a greatest American movies of all time list that was released in 1998....you fool!
There are a lot of great older movies, many of which are on that list. We should appreciate them while acknowledging other great movies when they come around. Don't hate em cuz they're black and white!
The Hitchcock movies are decent. Godfather 1 and 2 are great. I also liked Fargo, Close Encounters, and 2001. Goodfellas ofc.
This is a bad take King.
I stand with my lawyer.
I loved a lot of movies, but they were products of their time.... And should stay there as historical relics instead of revered as some kind of timeless masterpiece
Good movies are good movies!
