Blade Runner 2049 - holy shit/10. Great. Epic. How this didn't slay at the box office reinforces my view that people are idiots and we've become a society of instant gratification.

It did pretty well, both critics and audiences gave it overall a 80% or better score and it made about $258 million dollars on a $150 million dollar budget. I would say it did pretty good.

33rd on the year. Good for 1 whole spot above the ******* emoji movie. That's not real great.

Its an R-Rated Sci-Fi thriller that was 3 hours long. I think it did really well for what it was, but hardly a movie you would want to see over and over again at the theater or bring the kids to. I saw it twice in the theater to support it though!

Am I the only one who has never seen the same movie twice in a theatre?

    I, Tonya 8.5/10

Based on archival interviews and other accounts from the main people involved, this movie is essentially a dark comedy that would feel like fiction if we all didn't know it actually happened.

The best part about this film is that it tells three stories. The first is a biography of Tonya Harding herself, the second gives us a better insight to the circumstances surrounding "the incident", and the third shows us the genesis of what the mainstream news has morphed into today. It is easy to forget that the Tonya Harding story was one of the earliest fascinations of the 24 hour news cycle and was only shadowed shortly after by the OJ Simpson drama that turned journalism into sensationalism.

The film is told in a pretty straightforward fashion interspersed with with recreations of interviews and 4th wall breaking interjections from the characters. Margot Robbie and Sebastian Stan shine as Tonya Harding and Jeff Gilooly, and Allison Janney nearly steals the show as Harding's mother. The film plays like an early Cohen brothers movie as it portrays normal people getting in way over their heads, but it also carries some emotional weight near the end that wraps everything up nicely.

If you liked films like Fargo or The Big Short, this movie will be right up your alley.

Well maybe if you did, movies like Blade Runner would do better at the box office!

I don't recall doing this, although I might have seen one of the Star Wars rereleases twice and just forgotten it.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

This is why genre films like superhero movies are so important to studios. They need the Star Wars and Batman flicks which draw in multiple viewings from younger people to keep them afloat to release movies like Blade Runner, Dunkirk, and others which are more experimental. I just really like going to the movies and I will see all types, but it was stuff like Star Wars and Indiana Jones that solidified that for me when I was younger.

The best Harry potter thing ever is the 3 or 4 page story that the predictive text AI bot helped write.

What have I seen twice in theaters? Fury Road. I think that's it. I'd see it a third time, I want to catch the B&W version.

I'd see Blade Runner a 2d time, too.

I probably couldn't count the movies I've seen twice in the theater. I think my max is 3 though.

I think I saw The Dark Knight 3 times. And I think I saw Black Swan 3 times. I wanna say I saw it least twice in one day too.
