Coco 9/10
I'm not crying, YOU'RE CRYING!
Sigh... another borderline masterpiece from Pixar. A thoughtful exploration of how we keep our loved one's alive in our memories set to great music and a neon-clad Dia de los Muertos art style. Great movie.
WARNING: There is some bullshit Frozen "short" that takes up almost 20 minutes before the movie starts. This isn't your average tech demo Pixar short, this is a full-on commercial thrown in by Disney and it's long enough to make you think you are in the wrong theater. Really bad marketing move, but the movie itself almost made me forgive them for that.
Batman v. Superman (or is it the other way around?)
8/10
There is a dark vision here that is almost realized. 10/10 for the vision, 6/10 for the failings. Really great show.
I like 'em dark.

Let's Rid3!!!!
Speaking of cinematography, my wife all but forced me to watch LA LA Land last weekend. The movie was Just meh for me, I ******* loathe musicals with big dance numbers but I will say it was one of the better movies I've seen in a while from a cinematography standpoint. It was visually remarkable.
Man of Steel 9.5/10
Meant for big screen, wish I caught it in the theater. I should give it a 10/10 for best use of A-10 in cinema.
I like this Zack Snyder guy.
I love the way he captures velocity by using distance, perspective, parallax, and contrast. There are several shots where I think to myself, damn that's cool. *That's* how you show something going really fast, why does nobody else do that?
Some of the mandatory bubble gum in comes off as formulaic, and the movie doesn't ask too many questions like I enjoy in the Villanueve (sp?) movies, but it's tight, paced, fun, and satisfying--and Snyder has a good eye and a compelling vision to share.

However, Coco is awesome!
Not sure if I saw Reeve's face or not. I think there was something kinda weirdish like a face at one point.
