I've seen it a few times and it is just one of the most purely well made movies. It is one of those things that can stop me in my tracks if I catch it on TV and I will finish watching it no matter which part it is on. That being said, I don't own it in my collection and I think it is a Top 50 movie of all time which is strange. Like I never WANT to watch it, but I will if it's on. I guess because it is an emotionally draining movie for me that I would never actively pop it on on a lazy weekend afternoon.

I've intended to give it a go all year. I'm pretty sure it's available on Netflix or Amazon

The thing about it is that it is a safe bet that you will like the movie because it is so well crafted from a story and character perspective. Like sometimes you hesitate recommending something because movies are subjective to our tastes, but this one just seems to hit right with most people despite their tastes. At the very least you won't feel like you wasted your time watching it, so the opposite of something like Juno or Crash or My Big Fat Greek Wedding which are all horribly overrated.

I would respond to this in proper, but I'm busy since I have plans to watch the 1963 Akira Kurosawa classic High and Low tonight.

OMG you like Juno too? You are basically the anti-me. I was preparing a post earlier that was something along the lines of Clint Eastwood movies are the drama versions of Seth Rogen comedies.

Wait - NM - I mixed up Juno and Knocked Up. Juno wasn't bad. Kind of chick flicky if I recall correctly, but not bad.

Anyway - the Eastwood/Rogen analogy stands. I am drinking.

I like generic Michael Cera comedies, not generic Seth Rogen comedies.
