    Cars 3 - 8/10

Took my son to see this at a matinee yesterday. After whatever the hell Cars 2 was, it was nice to see them return to the heart of the story with this one. The plot more or less is about the inevitable march of time and how you know when it's time to move on. The angle of course here is that Lightning McQueen is slowly being phased out by a new generation of younger, faster cars with better technology. This movie has been done before (Balboa springs to mind) but it wraps up the trilogy nicely. Incredible looking movie, the backgrounds they use are photorealistic and if it wasn't for the eyes on the Cars themselves you would think you were watching a live action movie at points.

EDIT: Posted the review about 3 times when my computer froze, sorry bout that!

Yeah Cars 2 was a total money grab to sell toys it seemed like. This one had lots of callbacks to the first and seemed like a true sequel instead of that straight to DVD crap that Cars 2 was.

    Shimmer Lake 7.5/10

The non-linear story telling was great. It essentially starts on a Friday and goes backwards in a fairly clever manner. Recommended by Weazel, so he gets credit for finding it. Our movie snobs will probably enjoy it quite a bit. The best part is the comedians playing some dark comedic/dramatic roles. On Netflix.

    Buff, I'm looking at you.

    King Arthur - 7/10

Dont understand why the hate for this film. I enjoyed it, and while parts of Ritches editing style, i did not like, it was still an enjoyable film.

I did a quick check of some of those negative reviews that you refer to & I get the impression that this is another classic story that got butchered by making it into something that has nothing to do with the classic versions.

    Logan

    4 / 10.

Honestly I just hated the movie. Felt like a low budget B rated version of an X-Men movie.

    Transformers Dark Moon

    2/10

They are all the same. Oh and Megan fox isn't Hollywood hot. And the nut job leading guy threw his career away. I spent $3 for my kids to watch this.
