When they previewed this movie a few months back, I skipped goign to see it as it didn't look good. The movie is now at the "half-price" theatre so we checked it out since allthe other movies at the regular price movies were sold out.

But this movie was VERY good.. very good. I was pleasantly surprised. I wo uld recommend this movie to anyone. It's long, but you don't realize that it's over 2 hours as the entertainment keeps your attention. HIGHLY recommend to anyone. I personally liked this movie better than Interstellar.
I was going to ask how it compared to Interstellar which i liked. Will have to check this out.

I'd put Interstellar > Martian myself. Both are quality. But the book was >

The ending to Interstellar ruined it for me.

I will say that Martian the movie earns a special spot for me on the wall of honor for this. Uncontrolled grinning during this part!

    Ex Machina 9.2/10

I have been hearing a lot about this movie and when I saw it was on Amazon Prime Streaming I went ahead and checked it out. It had me hooked from the first scene and quickly became one of my favorite movies in recent memory. When a software programmer (Domahall Gleeson) wins a week long vacation at the eccentric CEO of the search engine company he works for (Oscar Isaac) estate. He quickly learns he is actually there to test out an android with a highly advanced AI to see how human she appears to him. Despite her being obviously a machine, Gleeson is almost immediately blown away by how human she is, a reaction not lost on the robot named Eva. Soon she begins cutting the power during the testing process so that her creator can not monitor them on camera and begins her subtle manipulation of Gleeson's character.

This is all the best things about sci-fi, morality tales, and the Twilight Zone all rolled into one. Check it out if you have Amazon Prime, or rent it ASAP. Dark humor, great performances, and a claustrophobic feeling make this a must see for fans of the genre.

Thanks! I have this coming up in my Netflix Bluray queue, but if it's on Amazon Prime I'll just watch it there. I've been interested in this one since it was in theaters.

This was an excellent, excellent movie. I was surprisingly impressed with how good the special effects were, and the story keeps you mysteriously "wondering" the entire time.

Yeah I thought I had it figured out, but I was off a bit. I love the scene with the mirror. You can see the beginnings of him becoming unhinged there.
