North, I once saw a horror flick that had the word rose in it, I think. The basic premise was that several people went to an hold haunted house that was majestic. The house locks them in (common or classic plot-line) but it was well done. People in the house slowly disappear. At one point there was a scene, one I liked a lot, where two people were running in the hallway and the carpet/rug was the old fancy one that only covered the middle of the floor started to chase them. The guy shoves the girl into a room, she opens the door and he's gone.
I cannot remember the name of the movie, but it was a good one. Does it ring a bell to you?
Stephen King's Rose Red.
Rush -8/10
I've never really had much interest in Formula 1 racing but the rivalry/friendship between the 2 drivers (James Hunt and Nikki Lauda) was interesting to watch.
Well crafted docu-flick.
"Chickens are dope..." - Von Miller
21 Jump Street. I heard it sucked but I enjoyed it. Chatum Tating or whatever his name is is so hot. 8/10
It Follows 7/10
An interesting take on the urban legend horror movie. The movie is excellent, but the ending kind of leaves you hanging and there is no real explanation, IMO. That doesn't mean it ends poorly, your just left without a full conclusion.
I keep hearing that movie is good I may have to check it out. Personally I think you can see the trend with horror films where usually the first is always the best one when things are kind of left unexplained. By the 29th Halloween movie when we learn that not only was Michael Myers abused as a child but he has OCD, his favorite color is green, and his middle name is Sebastian most of the mystery and fear has been taken out of the series. The less we can explain things in movies like that the better in my opinion. I don't want a conclusion where the monster is dead or the ghosts are gone, just that someone escaped and will be traumatized the rest of their lives.
The name of the father in the 1985 film Troll is Harry Potter.
Alien (Grindhouse Channel, Roku)- 9/10
Had seen this a few times before but when i watched last night i had forgotten just how well this movie was shot. For a movie made in the late 70's the cinematography was excellent and everything flows very nicely. Aliens will always be my favorite of the series but its hard not to argue just how great this movie is and how well shot it was compared to other movies of the same decade.
