Not necessarily forever - but a year of that life really appeals to me. Maybe 3 months on my own, then the rest with people.
I could never do what he did. I'm not man enough.

I think i'm done watching all the Scorseses I wanna watch so i'm gonna rank them real quick so I can have my thoughts written down somewhere:

    Taxi Driver
    Bringing Out the Dead
    Kundun
    Goodfellas
    Hugo
    The Aviator
    After Hours
    The King of Comedy
    Raging Bull
    The Wolf of Wall Street
    Casino
    The Departed
    Mean Streets
    Gang of New York

The only one of these that I don't have any desire to ever see again is Gangs of New York. Daniel Day Lewis was the only part that I liked. Everything from Taxi Driver to Raging Bull is pretty much great. After that, it's all just really good. I think Bringing Out the Dead, Kundun, After Hours, and The King of Comedy are all great and underrated.

    Thats an intersting list, abs.

I personally would put the The Departed away above the Aviator and especially The Wolf of Wall Street... in fact, wolf would go at the very bottom of my list. GoNY would go higher too, but a lot of really good movies in there, for sure.

Agree on Departed and Aviator. Aviator did nothing for me, but then again I wasn't in that kind of receptive state you need to be in to watch a film.

Saw American Sniper yesterday. Excellent, and very well done IMO. I don't give a ratsass about any deviations from story behind the movie, nor any political sidings. My wife had no idea it was a true story (or based on one) and was crying at the end. Even though I knew the outcome, my eyes teared up as well. My 14 YO son thought it was very good as well.

I thought he was killed in a shooting accident - we got home and realized the dude that killed him actually wanted to, and killed another person at the range. Really sad outcome for someone who gave so much to his country.

I dont know, i still have no desire to see this. Maybe because i already know the outcome so there is no element of surprise i guess.

can say that about a lot of movies, really. But him dying at the end wasn't really presented as a surprise or a shocker. It's a story of a real person, so him being killed was well known.

Lol, the end was out of the blue for me. I actually never saw it coming.

I found The Aviator more interesting, and I think it's really just gorgeous to look at. And I think it's Leo's best performance. And it makes me wish Scorsese directed that Great Gatsby movie released a couple years ago.

Ok.. well.. I guess it could be pretty DAMNED shocking that a soldier that has gone through that many tours, in that kind of action, comes home only to be killed by some psychotic douche that he was trying to help on american soil. That part is pretty shocking, for sure!
