Up - my son gives it a 10/10
For starters, I am a bit of a movie snob with higher standards than most normal people. I am like the NTL of Hollywood.
Agreed, in action movies I'm willing to roll with the punches, but I'm only willing to suspend my disbelief to a point. I found the Bourne movies to be more believable, even though there are some pretty implausible moments.
Diehard gets a pass because it's Diehard.
**SPOILER BELOW**
The thing that sticks out in my head in Shooter is when he is first leaving the scene of the assassination attempt and has like a billion FBI agents who have him cornered, and yet he gets away by backing his car into the river and then somehow hitches a ride on a barge despite his two gunshot wounds and dozens of cops who are 20 feet away. I would have preferred that he just shot all 50 of the people pursuing him, which is also ridiculously implausible, but doesn't make me say "oh c'mon, that would never happen."
However, it almost deserves a higher rating than I gave it because of that smoking hot chick co-star.
My 5 favorite teams:
1.The Denver Broncos
2.The Ohio State Buckeyes
3.Any team that plays Michigan
4.The Pittsburgh Pirates
5.Oklahoma Lady Sooners Basketball Team

Law Abiding Citizen - 7.5/10
Surprisingly good flick.
I'd probably rate it higher but I didn't really like the ending. Otherwise, it was a really good thriller, Gerard Butler's character is awesome. I like how you find yourself rooting for the bad guy. Jamie Foxx is good as usual.
- John Elway“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
Just finished "Leon/The Professional" with a 12 year old Natalie Portman from 1994.
Not sure exactly what to think about it. It was a good flick, probably a 7.5/10 - I picked it off of the IMDB list of the top 250 movies, so I went in with unrealistically high expectations.
It was just kind of weird how sexual they made the 12 year old girl's character. Her performance was awesome, but there were a few times where I felt that the sexual tension was kind of weird. It was still an interesting enough storyline that it kept me entertained and I didn't find it all that predictable, which is the thing I hate most in movies.
Gary Oldman was terrible. His character was prepostorously over the top for no reason. He would have ruined it completely if he had a bigger part.

Wow, interesting.
I love this movie and thought Oldman was fantastic. I didnt get the whole "kiddie porn" vibe either but the whole plot is bizarre in the grand scheme of things anyway. I kind of attribute it much like the film Killing Zoe with Eric Stoltz. Just put together that way to mind**** with people.
Really? Have you seen the director's cut/extended version where she tries to have sex with Leon and what not? I don't know, it just struck me as kind of uncomfortable given that she is 12.
As far as Oldman's performance: I guess in a different role Oldman's acting was good, it just seemed really out of place and over-the-top for me. Kind of reminded me of Ledger's joker in the dark knight, which was good for a super villain type, but kind of weird for dirty cop IMO.
Still a good movie though.
Uh, most likely not. The only thing ive seen is her trying to portray Marilyn Monroe making Leon uncomfortable and then of course the scene where she is at the counter with the Innkeeper guy telling him they are lovers. If there is a added scene than i can see that being pretty over the top. lol
WallStreet
I would rate it as an 8.
The ending could have been a little better and not summed up in 45 seconds. Other than that I loved it!
