Saw Dune, and really liked it. Loved that it followed the book better than 1980s version and looked beautiful. Felt it had the right weight to represent the source material.

"We saw it…. the hussars let loose their horses. God, what power! They ran through the smoke and the sound was like that of a thousand blacksmiths beating with a thousand hammers

They rush on to the Swedes! They crash into the Swedish riters…. Overwhelm them! They crash into the second regiment - Overwhelmed! Resistance collapses, dissolves, they move forward as easily as if they were parading on a grand boulevard

I am too. I liked they didn't try to pack everything into one movie.

Reviews are in for Morbuis. I'll decide for myself when I see it but for now, public opinion says...

    Spiderman: No Way Home. 8.5/10

About halfway through the 2:30 hour movie, I was thinking it was a 7-7.5/10 movie. Just felt a little slow and whiny. However, I thought the 2nd half redeemed itself. They brought back some characters/actors from previous Spiderman series (prior to Tom Holland era), and the way that did it was pretty good. In the end, it was all pulled together into an entertaining, even emotional, super hero flick.

I figure this will be the last of the Tom Holland era, which is kind of a shame, as I like him, but Spiderman has always been a 2-3 movie run, and then 5-10 years later, reboot with another actor.

Given how the comics are rehashed and Peter Parker, per ownership stance, has to always be young, it's the cycle. Just lines up. Salient point.

The Batman: 8 out of 10 as a movie, 10 out of 10 for a refreshing film. Patterson is a studly Batman and I am glad I gave him a chance leading into the movie.

Batman being remade for the 407th time is "refreshing"? What kind of morons do you take your readers for?

Oh now we're giving ourselves ratings? Seems a little narcissistic if you ask me.
